I have a 10 gallon deep substrate heavily planted aquarium with very little water changes. I ended up getting an algae bloom due to a failing filter and pump. I bought this UV filter which was much stronger and had better flow of water. It cleared my cloudy tank after two weeks. Made the water crystal clear. Photos don't do it justice. Also to note the tank has the ank a little reddish. After two weeks I recommend cleaning out the filter, just like the instructions say, because it will lose a little bit of pressure from a build up of debris and algae.

Works as it says it does...had a bloom and this cleaned it up in 3 days on 12hr incriminate with the UV light on. Needs to be cleaned out weekly for best efficiency tho. Had it for 3 months so I have no clue how long the bulb lasts.

Using this for my Chest freezer converted cold plunge which has approximately 60 gallons of water in it. Very happy with filter so far. It has a lot of adjustability on the outlet side and is super easy to pop open and clean. When I received it the UV bulb wasn’t working but I figured out it wasn't plugged in. The bulb sits inside another larger “bulb†that protects it from water. So far the pump and bulb are running just fine in the 36* water.

I had been battling an algae bloom for months and no matter the cleaning and treatments, it would just not stop. I came across this pump with UV and it looked like the perfect solution to get ahead of the infestation. Installation was easy enough though the riser for the water return is quite short requiring the pump to sit just below the water's surface not far from the minimum level. It would be nice to have the pump closer to the bottom where the waste sits but then you've got to use the noisy air siphon. So, one, two, three days passed and conditions had not improved with the UV set to 24 hours; in fact, things were worse. The only way I was able to get some inkling of control was to leave the tank dark for three days. At this point in time the UV is just barely holding the algae at bay even when set at 24 hours. I previously tossed my algae covered plants and hoping adding new ones will help control the last bit that the filter is unable to eradicate.

I was very excited to use this filter as I have had some serious green water from cycling my tanks. I gave it some time (20 days) before leaving a negative review. I could've just got a bad product but the light is clearly working, the watts its producing... im not sure becauae the light it self didn't seem all that strong. I was only using this filter for 10 gallon tanks which you would think it would be over kill as its the lowest rated tank this filter is recommended for. I covered one of my tank in a black garbage bag, and I used this filter in the other by day 7 the black garbage bag has cleared up way more than this filter. After 2 weeks no result the water is even greener than before. I tried adjusting the pressure higher and lower still, no change. I finnaly gave up on this product and all the praise it recived from some previous review 3w is clearly not enough to remove green water from a ten gallon. Good luck if your trying to try this item but I was disappointed.

This UV filter system was working correctly until today. I wanted to return it because it doesn't shut off as designed. The return deadline ended three days ago, so I must remember to unplug it manually. I want to shut it down because even at the lowest setting, it's a powerful current (too powerful) for a 10-gal tank. We have an algae bloom problem, and the filter cleared it up. I want to run this additional filter for maintenance only. I originally posted this review with one star because of the issues, and the warranty ended.The seller contacted me for a replacement, and I accepted a new one. It's working as it should, and using the rainfall bar instead of the air injector doesn't create a flow issue for this small tank. So, based on the seller's commitment to helping, I give them a five-star review.
