We have a 10,000 gallon Aquascape pond on our property but wanted a smaller one near Our gazebo as a water feature/water garden. This kit has everything (except rocks) that you need to make a beautiful water feature. Was very easy to install (to me a weekend) and functions beautifully. Exactly what we needed. Be sure to size your pond a bit smaller than the Reccomended size to allow for any additional fussing you need to do as you rock it in and create the waterfall and filter area. Aquascape has great installation chisels I highly recommend watching.

I compared the products in this pond kit to another company and Aquascape has superior products. Sturdier skimmer and waterfall compared to other kits. I have not installed it yet but I was able to compare entire kit to another brand.

I bought this kit with limited knowledge last year. We built the pond and I loved it. Now it is gone because I want a dedicated koi pond. Things to know:1. This creates a water garden which is different from a true koi pond2. The shallow 2 ft does not meet the needs of koi3, The gravel based ecosystem requires an annual draining and power washing4. The skimmer brushes are not included and cost $40 on Amazon.5. You’ll need more bioballs than what is included6. The liner is not big enough to add a higher waterfall so expect it to be just slightly higher than ground level unless you reduce the size of the pond.7. There is an extra hole in the skimmer that needs plugged or an overflow hose to redirect water. If not closed, water will go behind the liner when pond raises due to rain8. You’ll want to buy a faux stone skimmer cover, underwater lights and aerator.Warning: this hobby is addictive. One year later, we are re-building. The instructions in the kit and quality of these products are great.

There is no question that Aquascape makes great products for making a pond. I can’t imagine a person being unhappy with the quality of the components. I’m glad I bought the pond kit for my project. Amazon offers Aquascape products at a significant discount from their retail prices and the kit is no more expensive than buying the components individually. And you don’t want to miss out on the coffee mug included with the kit.My pond is beautiful and all parts are working properly so I would have given a 5-star rating except for the fact that the liner dimensions that they suggest are inadequate. My pond is 6X8 feet but the kit for that size pond provides a liner that is 10X12 feet, just enough for covering the bottom and the 2 ft sides with no overlap for hiding the liner in rocks and plants along the edge. In their excellent video they show this step as if there is plenty of liner. I can’t imagine a person being happy with a liner that is just big enough to come up the sides. I ordered the kit for the next larger pond size (8X11 feet) in order to get enough liner and I still didn’t have enough. The waterfall unit is about 1.5 feet high and I wanted it set back a foot rather than right at the edge. There was no way to make even this larger liner reach to attach it to the waterfall unit so I had to buy an additional piece of liner. If you’re thinking of making a pond I highly recommend Aquascape, but be sure to carefully work out how much liner you’ll need.

Everything needed but the rock. Made mine 6x8x2. Some frustrations with construction, but it had nothing to do with the kit, just me never taking on a project like this. I'd suggest watching the video MANY times prior to starting, I did and STIIL had some stumbling blocks. Again NO fault of the kit. You will need (literally) tons of rock. Hint: Craigslist list, free section. I'm not done, as it's too hot to work outside right now, and I'm not going for the natural look. Think out your design and waterfall carefully BEFORE starting. You'll save headaches later.

Update 5/8/2022I adjusted my review from 3 star to 1 star. This update is on the pump, the Aquasurge 2000 Pond Pump that came with the 1000 gallon pond kit. I discovered it leaks electricity roughly 2 years ago but was not sure if it killed my koi fish. However, in the last two weeks, I can confirm it killed 3 of my large koi. The last one was killed on the early hour of 5/4 where they were mating. This time, I had a camera recorded the event where my Hi Utsuri was chasing the female koi and he ran toward the Skimmer's door which is 5"x5" and got electrocuted. That night, I put my hand at the same spot, and I got intense electrical shock!I was upset and has replaced this pump with a spare pump that runs on a 20v transformer. It took me 4 days to run various test, including test on an extension cord and I can confirm this pump was responsible for the death of several Koi fish over the last few years. They always died at the door of the Skimmer!I thought this pump was of high quality and should last but I was wrong. I will not buy from this brand again.-- Previous review --Overall, this pond kit is okay and strictly speaking, if you follow the instruction to dig the hole no more than a maximum of two feet deep, then the pond liner is just barely enough. Advertised at 12' x 15' overall dimension, I found that the liner was short of 12' x 15'. You see, it was cut inaccurately. the longest width was 12', but it varies along to as much as 5 inches shorter to end at 11'7" width. Same goes for the length as it is not a straight cut at 15 feet long. The maker could have made the cut a little more generous to compensating for the inaccuracies during cutting..It gave me trouble during installation as it was short at the edges.Another specifications I am having problem with is the advertised of "Liner: 45 mil EPDM fish safe". There is no way this liner is 45 mil thick! The most I can measure is 2 mil thickness. I bought this liner as it promise 20 years warranty. Now, I am concerned this liner is not going to hold up for the fish. The instruction was good to follow.
