So far it's holding up well. It's very lightweight compared to a pool pole net. I will say you shouldn't load it up with a lot of wet leaves. You really need something heavier for that. I dip stuff out with it, like my dog's stupid ball he keeps dropping in there.

Heavy duty and works well only complaint is that in one spot it is coming apart at seam but was able to catch more than 1 at a time once or twice

This is perfect for catching koi up to about 24". Netting is fairly soft and the net is shallow so they don't get all tangled up while transferring from pond to display/medical tub.

The package arrived disheveled and item was broken (net where it attached to the handle). I thought the mfr had said they would replace but have gotten neither a replacement net or a refund. Disappointed

If you've been a pond owner or professional for any accountable length of time, you already know that pond nets are either keepers or disposables. I had higher hopes for this particular net, but it turns out that it was just like many of the others I've been through.Aquascape uses this soft net design on a number of the pond nets they offer. While it is generally effective, it has caused tangling effects with the dorsal and ventral fins of koi (particularly butterfly) more times than I care to say for comfort. This causes a large amount of stress for the fish, which is exactly what you don't want when you are trying to move them. The first time out of the package, this net hooked rather nastily on a butterfly koi during a pond cleaning. The fin gently had to be tugged out of the tangle to free the fish, no doubt leaving some damage and stress as a result. This particular net is listed to accommodate larger fish, which is the main reason why I purchased it. After using the net several times, I've noticed the main frame severely bending. Note that the net never saw fish more than 4lbs, as I use a sock for anything more. I'm sure it will only be a matter of times until the frame breaks, just like all the other Aquascape nets I've used...This net does a reasonably well job for 1-2yr old koi and medium goldfish, but it is apparent that it can't handle anything more than that. I was hoping for something with a better quality based on the price, but I was sadly disappointed. Don't let the advertising fool you; it's just about as strong as any other Aquascape net, which isn't saying too much. Save your money and get the 98560 model, or invest in a koi sock if you have bigger fish. But whatever you do, don't waste the extra dollars on this one.
