This bag of aquatic plant soil worked well. Planted 2 lotus and they are doing great. Easy to use and good quality mix. I would recommend this potting mix.

I bought this for my water lily that needed a bigger pot. Good soil. Didn’t cloud the water. Lilies growing goodbut used the whole bag for only one plant. Will try to find something cheaper next time.

I've never had a pond and this is my first purchase, but it seems like most people are concerned with clouding water? This settled within a couple hours, but I also made sure to pour gently off to the side or against my hand. When I moved and transferred a couple of the plants of course it got super cloudy, but again, it settled very nicely. It's not a whole lot, but it was enough to do at least 3 inches at the top of each pot I used, plus a little left over. Suitable for my beginning needs.

I've bought this twice. It's great for the planted tank set up. However, the second time I purchased it, it was not delivered and Amazon is giving me a hard time about sending the product to me -- the product that I paid for!

Like any soil, this can and will leach into the water, but unlike the local soil here, it's WAY less!! And it settles WAY faster than anything else I've tried!! The plants seem to be thriving in it too, so it must be ok!! I actually will have to be cutting some back, because they are even BIGGER than I had even thought possible!! LOL So, win win!! If you're transplanting a lot of plants though, this won't go very far! It was GREAT for replacing the 3 that didn't make it over the winter, and putting some fresh in the ones already there, but I'd get more bags if this is for new plants!! I'd say maybe one bag per 4 plants, to be safe?! It does seem a wee spendy for dirt, but we LOVE our pond, and get so much pleasure out it, it seemed worth it! But, that is why I only gave it 3 stars for value of money. But, I really like it, and will buy again when needed! :-)

once i got the technique down i was able to use the product without the cloudiness in the watermust put at least 1 to 2 inches of small rinsed prior substrate mini rocks(Microbe-Lift Planting Media w/Bacteria 10 lbs.) on top of this product. also used landscape fabric to surround and lower this into the water as to not stirup /disturb the soil keeping the water clean

For this high price you expect to get a good quality as described. Unfortunately I got a bag, have to wash and clean water from floating pieces, water is still brown and I am not sure how long it will take to settle down if it ever going to happen ... very disappointed..
