The Lava Ukulele string was developed and inspired by Hawaiian volcanoes.
Features a grey-black color reminiscent of volcanic stones.
The string is made with the same construction as Super Nile Gut to produce a smooth touch, rich sound.

These strings are the equivalent of smoking Djarum Blacks just for the aesthetics. These strings are made for people who like their coffee black just so others can be amazed of how manly they are. These strings are chiseled out of obsidian, a rare material found in Minecraft, and sound warmer than that black coffee sitting on your counter because the first sip burnt your tongue. I put these strings on my all black ukulele and a murder of crows gathered around me. Some say they could see the reapers sickle in my hands as I strummed the low G string. These strings are so metal, they’re not even fully black. Black is for conformists, these strings have a slight greyish hue that makes them even more nonconformist than a nonconformist and the lone wound silver string Is the most nonconformy of them all. It looks amazing, it sounds amazing, and I feel like the Cure... if the Cure played strictly on Ukuleles. Now I’m going to get back to my cover of “Lovesong†and leave you guys with my darkness seal of approval. It’s too hot for hot topic.

One man's peach is another man's poison -- so please realize that your mileage may differ. But, that being said, I love these strings. They DO take forever to stretch, though -- much more than any of any of Aquila's strings -- just be prepped for this. I tend to tune them in on the uke leaving NO slack on the strings for wrapping (knowing that it will fill my machine head's post given time. They feel great, awesome "graphite" color. very smooth, and have a little more subtle sound than the standard Nylguts. I have never tried the "supers", but they are next on my list.

I probably prefer the high g strings, but like the non wound c.since I play banjo, Im used to the high c setup.these are lovely strings though expensive, so only two ukes will use them.My most used tenor ukulele and a six stringed uke.they are worth the price for the quality of sound and the wonderful feel of the string.I got a counterfeit set off ebay, but these are authentic.they should luminesce under black light and feel very smooth.that these strings are counterfeited should indicate their loveliness.that is unfortunate, and worrisome but these are authentic and worth the higher price.the super nylgut break in a little faster, however they degrade faster so because of the expense, and short string life I cannot afford to use them on every instrument. I would if I could however. they are that lovely.

I bought these to try and "fix" a ukulele that i'm not super fond of. I like the strings, but not on THIS ukulele. They are really smooth and "lighter" than the standard aquillas that came with the uke. They have a very subdued sound. Definitely not for you if you want LOUDER. They have a very nice sound though, i t just wasn't what i needed for the instrument i have.I really love the color. They are a dark gray. The C string is darker than the other 3.

These strings provide an excellent alternative sound.

I was looking for good uke strings. These were recommended to me.Installation was normal so nothing new there however I did buy different strings for another uke and it came with items that made it easier to install on the bridge for three different types of bridges. These were just the strings and for me that was fine. What was really nice about these strings is it is as if they are pre-stretched. For those that are new to sringed instruments, you install, tune, and play. The initial playing causes strings to stretch and thus require re-tuning. This can go on for weeks or even months. With these Aquila strings, it only took a few days before no longer needing retuning.

I really like the feel of the Super Nylgut Strings. For me it's like the difference between regular classical guitar strings and the hard tension classical guitar strings; the Super Nylgut has a firmer feel and a more solid tone. I have a kala tenor uke and the tone is now deeper and less scratchy or treble-y sounding than with the previous regular Aquia strings it had on. More importantly, the red nylon low G string is an improvement over the wound low G (which I had to replace 3 times already since they tend to fray at the frets in a very short amount of time). I think this new red color nylon low G string will last as long as the rest of the set. Also, the nylon low G string seems to sound more balanced with the rest of the strings (whereas the wound low G string tended to be louder). In short, I would highly recommend this string set to anyone who likes the sound of a ukulele with a low G as opposed to a high G 4th string.

I purchased these strings for the low g string. Left the other original strings in place. Good quality, sounds great, good price. Highly recommended.

I always use Aquila strings on my Ukuleles and have never been disappointed. I used this particular set to tune my Laka Tenor Ukulele to low G and it has a very nice tone.

Acheté pour passer en LOW G sur mon Kala MKT. Elles tiennent parfaitement la tension au bout de deux semaines max et ne se désaccordent quasiment pas !
