10 year old Troy-bilt 2700psi pressure washer froze up and after some research I found this pump recommended as a direct replacement. And it is a good match! I did have to buy some longer bolts and use some washers for spacers, which is called out as a possibility in the manual for this pump. But considering that otherwise this pressure washer is junk, new bolts was a small additional investment. Installation was straight forward after that. The engine fired right up and the pump works like new. Just finished washing the house with no problems. Do pay attention to which leg has the opening for the oil pan drain hole--your motor may vary.

Works fine and replacement is fundamentally easy. Elsewhere you will find details on pump replacement with a Briggs & Stratton engine which is almost the same. The pump removes and installs easiest with the machine up side down on your bench so drain the gas and oil too if you wish. The Devillbiss pump comes off easily with its 4 bolts and the center shaft bolt will require a stick of wood about an inch square and a foot or so long to stop the shaft from rotating while removing the bolt. Once pump is off an Allen key will take the last piece off the shaft.Now remove the three bolts holding the engine to the base plate and take them with you to get three more an inch longer. Also purchase a one inch long key that is 3/16 square to hold the engine shaft and pump collar together. You can measure them easily now that the old pump is off. Use some heavy grease or Never Seize in the pump slot and insert the key. Don't reverse this and put the key in the engine drive shaft. (I had to install the pump twice because I put the key in the engine shaft and it slid out when putting the pump on.) The key sticks out about a quarter inch on the pump shaft so when you are inverting it and lining it up with the engine shaft you can see where it goes. If you need to rotate the engine shaft pull the start cord and make sure your pump inlet and outlet are pointing in the correct direction. You should feel the key slide into the shaft journal. Bolt the pump to the engine but not too tightly as its a steel bolt going into an aluminum engine base. I put lock washers on my bolts just in case. I chose not to reinstall the bottom plastic skid cover and the plastic piece around the ports. I recommend the quick detach parts you see in my pictures and the hose extension.

As a precaution take note my pump (mounted to a Troy-Bilt brand power washer with a Honda engine) was installed with the same three bolts that mount the engine to the frame so plan accordingly. What I thought was a one person task turned out to require two persons because I chose to turn my power washer upside down to better access the attaching hardware. The extra set of hands supported the engine so I could line up to the crankshaft key and install the bolts and nuts. I would've given this 5 stars but there was confusion whether or not the pump would arrive pre-serviced with oil. The Amazon information did not mention anything about the pump shipping dry so I "live chatted" with an Amazon representative to determine if I needed to purchase oil also. The Amazon representative responded the unit would not contain oil so I purchased the strongly recommended oil (AR North America AR64545 Crankcase Oil) at the same time I purchased the pump. The pump came with some installation instructions but it did not stipulate if the pump was already serviced with oil or if it needed oil added. When I attempted to service the pump with the oil I tipped it over to verify the unit was empty since the instructions stated the oil capacity was 2.2 oz. and didn't want to risk over-servicing the oil. Contrary to what I was told, the pump contained oil...2.2 oz. to be exact. So the oil purchase was a waste of money. Out of curiosity, I compared the oil already in the pump to the oil I purchased and noticed the viscosity of the oil I purchased was low or thinner. I decided to use the oil that the pump arrived with…so time will tell if that was the right choice. For now this unit works like new. Fortunately I planned for the possibility the oil purchase was necessary so I was covered for both scenarios. So…buyer beware… the next pump purchased from this site could arrive dry.

Product fit perfectly, better than the original. Easy to put on, it would have been nice to know without removing the plug if it had the 2.2 oz of gear oil or not. Superior quality for the price.

I have a Diamond brand 2600 psi washer with the Honda GCV 160. This was a simple straight forward replacement although tricky as the bolts through the pump are also what mount the engine in place. It took a few taps with a rubber mallet to get it onto the shaft with the keyway lined up but the end result was a pressure washer that works as it should again.

Pump is great, very strong. Comes filled with oil. This pump was $60 cheaper than the identical AR pump sold at princess auto. I would suggest using a smaller pump for anything under a 5hp engine. My Briggs and Stratton 5hp kind of struggles but manages.

When installed on a Craftsman cart, the new pump required spacer washers; readily available at a local hardware store. The 3 original engine bolts holding the Honda motor in place had to be replaced with longer bolts. If you're blessed with 3 hands, you might be able to install the new engine bolts from the top but lining up the engine, bolts, spacer washers, cart deck, and pump proved difficult so I installed the bolts from below and the job was completed in less than 10 minutes. I was lucky and had a spare 3/16" woodruff key in my parts bin: otherwise you'll have to buy one. For some reason, the manufacturer of the pump chose NOT to include one; hence the 4 star rating. The easy start valve makes the gas engine very easy to start: usually on the 1st pull.
