This is a really nice welding hood for the price. Like the grind and cut features, as well as the flip up shade module. That flip mechanism takes a bit of getting used to, as it is a bit counter-intuitive for opening and closing, but it works well. I really like the clarity of the shade module is outstanding. Very pleased with the purchase.

This helmet has a light green tint, so it's not what I could consider "True Color". I have another true color helmet and there is NO tint whatsoever in that one... but I find that I adjust to the green tint after a while.., and if I look at my welder, the display is defiantly red, and while all the colors might not be 'True' it's a LOT better than the old welding helmets that passed nothing but green through.I have been using this for a few weeks now, and I've tried to switch back to my other "true color" helmet, but I always switch back to this one, because despite the green tint, it's simply the clearest view of my weld. I find that the green tint doesn't affect anything, but with this helmet I can CLEARLY see when my aluminum has become liquid, and with all my other helmets, that is always a struggle, because with aluminum, there's not much difference between when it's melted or solid, it's just shinier, not like steel that's glowing red and it's obvious it's a liquid... Aluminum never glows like that, it just gets wet looking, and you need a very clear view of this to weld it properly. I also like how much room I have in this helmet, I need to wear prescription glasses, and in some of my other helmets, my glasses hit on the sides and it's really annoying and also difficult to get my glasses where they need to me. I have progressive bifocals, and they absolutely need to be on my head the proper way or I can't see anything. This helmet gives me the room I need, so my glasses never touch the helmet. I d0 get a very occasional arc flash, where the auto darkening happened just a split second too late, and it was too bright for me. I have the sensitivity at maximum, but I still get this occasionally.I also like where the controls are and I found I could make adjustments with my gloves on, but I accidentally switched it into grinding mode when I meant to just lighten it a little... so be careful if you try to adjust it with your gloves on... not a huge deal, it was my fault, but it's something to be aware of.After I got used to the green tint, I did enjoy using it, I found I could easily see my weld pool while TIG welding Aluminum and the green tint did not really bother me at all. I had excellent visibility and having enough room for my glasses to be in the proper place also did help a lot.The helmet comes with a protective piece of plastic on the outside and a rectangle on the inside. I removed the protective film from both, but the rectangle on the inside would not stay where it was supposed to, and kept shifting, so I just took it out and left it out. I'm not sure what's supposed to secure it in there, but I don't feel it's necessary at all.... not for TIG welding anyway, maybe for other stick welding or flux core where there is so much smoke covering everything it would be helpful.

I have two other helmets, but this is by far the best I own. There are so many features to this helmet that my others do not have. Every time I have gotten a new welding helmet it has been an upgrade, and this is the best upgrade yet. The biggest stand out is the large viewing window. When not actually welding this is great for a griding helmet. I also like how the welding lens is inside the helmet and moves up out of the way as opposed to being external and flipping up. The settings on the side are easy to navigate, whether you are grinding or using a lighter or darker shade. The actual headpiece is padded very well and easily adjustable. To finish off this package, there is an included storage bag, spare batteries, stickers (if that's your thing), and an extra clear protective shield. For a good bit less than one hundred dollars, I think this is a great option for a DIY or hobbyist.

My husband loves his new ARCCAPTAIN flip-up design welding helmet. He likes that it has a nice large viewing 3.94" x 2.56" and auto-darkening welding hood. He’s doing his side projects with a welding machine, and this helmet is everything he was looking for. The design is so awesome, it’s a cyberpunk style. It fits him perfectly and keeps his neck and shoulders pretty comfortable during extended use. My husband loves that it’s powered by solar cells and also lithium batteries; it gives him more working time. We highly recommend this helmet for welding and other purposes for its great functionality and great quality.

This welding helmet is way nicer than what I could find locally at the hardware stores. I'm very impressed with the field of view, sensor adjustment, and the comfort while wearing it. It works way better than other welding helmets I've used. My eyes are not sore after using it. I've done some research and made adjustments to the unit to match my use. I recommend everyone does that. It's lightweight and covers the head well to avoid any flying sparks from landing on you.

The ARCCAPTAIN welding helmet is excellent. Its convertible design is comfortable and easy to use. The large viewing area of 3.94” x 2.56” provides clear vision while working. It has 4 arc sensors that ensure quick response to changes, and thanks to solar energy, it is energy efficient. The colors are very realistic, which makes it easy to see details accurately.

I wasn’t expecting to be this impressed with a welding helmet, but here we are! I’ve been using this for DIY projects, mostly MIG and some plasma cutting, and I really like it so far. First off, the fit is fantastic—it's super comfortable even for a larger head. The adjustable headband means no pressure points, which is huge for long sessions. The helmet itself is light and flexible, so it doesn't feel bulky like some others I've tried. Plus, the funky designs on the outside are a fun touch! The auto-darkening feature works well and gives me a nice, clear view while I'm welding. The "true color" lens is a game-changer for detail work, as it eliminates that greenish tint you get with some helmets. I also love the wide viewing area—makes it so much easier to see what’s going on around me without lifting the helmet. One thing I did find a little tricky was the lack of an on/off switch, and the controls for sensitivity, shade, and delay took a bit of getting used to. But once I got the hang of it, everything was pretty straightforward. The helmet is lightweight, which makes it feel less durable than some of the bulkier options, but it does the job just fine for my needs. It also comes with replacement shields and a couple of extra batteries, which I appreciate.Overall, this helmet has been a solid upgrade for my welding, offering great comfort, clear visibility, and plenty of handy features for the price. Definitely a keeper for anyone who does welding on a more casual basis.

Compared to the old school helmets I am used to, this is like something out of the future. I could do without the artwork, but given how well this thing works I won't complain. The visor is huge compared to the old little gold plated strips. I tested the lag time with a camera flash and still can't believe how fast these things darken!
