This is LOVELY!!! The cedar smell when I opened the box was delightful. Very easy to install with simple instructions. It arrived an hour ago and I've already got it up. It's secure and sturdy, I am confident it will withstand weather and the test of time. Bonus, I have a custom mailbox (it's shaped like a train) and it attached to this post with the same ease and convenience a standard mailbox would. I wish I had a need for more, I would buy a dozen of them.

This is a decent mailbox post that is pretty easy to install, some reviews state item was broken or cuts were sloppy but mine was fine so maybe a shipping issue? anyway mine was perfect nice cedar wood so it should hold up for awhile.... the include mailbox mounting hardware could be better but it is usable and the top post was a little off to one side but good enough and not very noticeable I would recommend putting the stake in the post to make sure it goes all the way in then pounding the whole thing into the ground -- use a piece of scrap 2x4 to protect the post as you hammer it in and you will need a pretty heavy hammer a normal one wont do the job but once its in the ground its pretty solid to me, this is a better choice than concrete because mine has been taken out a couple times and replacing this is much easier than digging out a chunk of concrete took about 1/2 hr to do start to finish.

Someone hit our mailbox and we needed a new setup. This post looks very nice and seems to be quality. My only problem was how curved the main piece is. I used it anyway and it's good enough, that's just the only thing I'd change. Hopefully it'll last, being cedar. The size was nice for us, as it was larger than the old one and seems sturdier.

The mailbox post looks good on my lawn. I assembled it according to the instructions and it all fit together as instructed. The only problem I has was driving the steel base into the ground. The soil in my location is loaded with stones (1 inch to 3 inch size) so driving was a chore. I had only a 4 lb. hammer to drive it; they recommended 4 to 10 lb. hammer. I'm sure it would have been much easier with a 10 lb. sledge. I recommend using a heavy hammer if you can get your hands on one.

I didn’t expect much at the price point, and I definitely didn’t get much.About 99.9% sure they sent a Return even though I ordered new.Cedar was banged up pretty good, hardware bags were re-taped shut as well as the box it came in.The mount included wouldn’t last 2 seasons. It’s just a piece of unpainted angle iron. Would rust to nothing.Every hole was drilled off center. There should be more wood screws included to hold everything properly. Either they aren’t or mine were missing. The top post was cut at such an angle there is at least an eight of an inch gap when it screwed all the way down. It should sit flush.3/10. Would not recommend.

I use this for a street sign for my yard. I had one that was 15 years old, but a tree fell on it. My ground is very hard right now, so driving the metal post in was harder than usual. The sledge hammer disfigured the top of the post and I was afraid that the cedar post wouldn't fit, but it did drive down. The box looked like it had been through the war and had holes in it. Some of the holes went so far as to tear holes in the plastic bags and I had lost the deck screws, but fortunately I had some to replace them. I suspect this was the fault of the delivery service and not the manufactuer.

I don't know if I just got one that was out of the ordinary but the main post was very poorly milled with deep saw marks on two four sides. It required excessive heavy duty sanding before it could be finished with a wood preservative and even with the sanding and preservative applied, the deep saw marks are still visible. But for the fact that I hired and paid someone to install it for me, I would have returned it -- and that would have been a pain too given its size and weight.

While the post is in tact and installed.. we realized that some of the mailbox mounting software was missing. What a pain!

The moment i could open the box, I could smell the cedar wood, and the look of the wood was awesome in my opinion. had this marble look to it from the different sections of the wood it was cut from. Assembly was easy to do, and then sticking it into the ground was just as easy.
