The catnip was easy to install, it was supplied in a small thin vial. My cat showed interest in the ball immediately. It's durable. The price was affordable.

I gave this 3 stars and I will explain why. Since i am reviewing the toy and the catnip it comes with I had to combine them as I was reviewing 1 product. I would give the toy it’s self 5 stars and the catnip -5 stars! But I can’t so I gave 3 stars.The ball its self is great! My cats had a blast playing with it. It came with a small plastic vile of catnip. It was more of a powder/dust then actual dried up catnip leaves and such. Two of my cats had the same reaction on 2 separate occasions when they were giving this catnip. Since this catnip is more of a dust I rubbed a little bit on a soft cat toy instead of giving them a small pile to play with. (You don't want them to be able to breath the dust in it could get in their lungs and cause all kinds of other problems). As soon as he ingested the catnip he ran off in a panic. When I caught up to him his mouth was all foamy and he was drooling! I thought maybe he was choking. I opened his mouth taking the slime and foam out and the only thing I could see was remnants of catnip powder. He eventually calmed down once I got it all out of his mouth. It took me a lot longer to calm down since I couldn’t wrap my head around what had just happened. My heart was racing. I thought I was going to have to rush him to the vet! Luckily everything turned out alright. I am very experienced with cats and catnip. I had never seen any cat act like that for any reason. When I told my husband about the situation. He said that he had a similar experience with one of our other cats! Not as Severe or dramatic but she had the same drooling and panic affect after ingesting the catnip. He asked me what catnip I gave to the cat and I told him the catnip that came with this toy.So please trust me if you buy this toy for your cats just trow away the catnip. It’s not worth the worry. Buy them some catnip from a trusted company instead. I wish i had a video of how my cats reacted to this catnip so I could show just how dangerous it is. It was not the positive playful reaction it should have been. It was straight panic and fear! I would have posted a picture of the catnip “dust†to show the texture but I already threw it away.I don’t like to give negative reviews but I would hate for this or something worse to happen to another cat. So the least I can do is share what my experience was.

We did not like how the catnip affected our cat. Our cat first seem to do well and enjoy the toy with the catnip. After he played for a bit we noticed he was a bit off and not quite himself. So we took it away and for the next 2 days he didn’t want to eat and was sluggish. Was not his normal playful, cuddle bug he is. He looked sick and acted sick.THIS IS JUST OUR HONEST REVIEW, I mean everything else was good. The durability, the size and the sturdiness was all good but the way the catnip effected our lil cat. We will not buy it again. There has been bad animal products that have came from China an we didn’t notice that and gave it a try. Not again....

This seems to be a good product. As others stated PITCH the catnip, it even smells rancid.i find others reviews complaining about the size odd, since the exact dimensions are stated. It was a little cumbersome for my cat, but he's as lazy and spoiled as they come. With a little effort on the cats part, I think this would be a good, long lasting toy. The only time my boy was interested was when the ball threated to hit his food dish.
