As other reviewers have stated this needs a toggle on and off switch built into the wire so you can turn the pump on and off when needed. I didn't like that you have to unplug the unit with possible wet hands to control the pump. So I made my own extension cord with an in line switch so that I can turn the pump on and off without having to unplug it.The second improvement I made was I took a silver dollar for size and shape. Then I cut out circles from a window screen repair kit and put them into the other four open holes on the cover. this will catch any other scum and dirt from getting into the pump. Next I have four sink rubber drain plugs to use to plug the open holes for soaking small parts over night. The fifth hole is a different size so I will have to get a different size for that one. I removed the original brush that came with the unit and replaced it with a stiffer one for cleaning parts. I also removed the clamp they had on the hose and replaced it with a small fuel injector clamp that won't harm the hose. The Last improvement I will make I will put the PARTS WASHER onto the bucket dolly so that I can move it around real easy when I have to. When I get it all done I'll try and post some pictures on the finish product at a later date. By doing this it makes it a lot shorter in height so that I can use it under the car as well as under the wheels when doing brakes. I am not fortunate to have a lift so this will work just fine.I will be using heated water and simple green to clean my parts that works really well and that should not harm the pump. All in all with some minor improvements this will come in real handy in a lot of ways. This product is very well built and a very good buy at the price.

Works great! Needed to wash parts for my mower transaxle and considered buying a stand-alone parts washer when I stumbled on this little beaut! Perfect for the limited use I was needing, and at a good price! First use went as expected and the washer performed great! Brush bristles are stiff and cleaned the parts quickly, pump is quiet, easy setup and take down... what’s not to love?! Also super easy to store and doesn’t take up tons of space when not in use! I do wish it had an on/off switch but for the price... it’s a non issue for me!Edit: So I found an inexpensive on/off switch and added it no problem. Also didn’t quite understand the “filter” screen on one of the drainage holes and NOT the other 4... so I got some wire mesh material and fixed that as well. Those 2 “fixes” (for me) make this an even greater value! Truly, truly, an awesome parts washer!

Just the tray is a blessing to have. Others commented on the open big drains. Took red milk bottle caps, cut out inner circle portion leaving about 1/8 inch and ring. Cut ss window screen to fit, then heated the screen and pressed into plastic ring to melt in. Fits just loose enough to pull out easy, Cap threads give a better grip to pull up. One star off because I just have not used it yet. Like it otherwise.

It'll do the job. The pump has some suction cups to stick it to the side of the bucket but it eventually comes off and drops to the bottom of the tank and picks up debris. It would also be nice if the fit to the bucket was tight but it, too, just floats in the top of the bucket. All the buckets seem to be standard with all lids fitting all buckets so it should be a simple matter to have a tapered base to this cleaner that would fit nice and tight. But, it does work and at a reasonable price.
crazy man.

Love this parts washer. I have a lot of stuff in the shop and needed something compact to wash saws and other things. First thing through it was a chain saw, as my uncle says even if you don't fix the saw it will look brand new.A lot of the complaints were that its to small however if your buying something that fits on a 5 gallon bucket and expect to fit an entire engine in it that's on you. For rebuilding chain saws and parts in the shop it is perfect. If you need a full size parts washer it is not that.Long story short its exactly what I thought I would get. And I got a little switch on the plug or use a switched outlet and that solves the on off issue. (I personally think all shops need to have one switched plug for this type of tool.

Pump is plenty powerful.Basin is tiny, bordering on useless at the volume of solvent the pump puts out.No effective place to put the brush so in addition to having no switch to turn the unit off, you cannot let go of the brush for even the briefest of moments or it flies out and pumps solvent all over your floor. If I was an octopus, I would probably love this thing but alas as a human, it is quite annoying. That said, it was cheap enough and I have to admit, that the garage does look great now that I have mopped up the mess this thing made.

To be clear, I have only used this a few times. It performed perfectly for what I needed. 3 caveats... I bought a separate momentary foot switch at the same time. I used oil-eater mixed according to the instructions on the container. And, I added a piece of dual-density filter media to isolate the pump. The foot switch was a suggestion from another purchaser in their review. For me, another 15-20 bucks for a switch was a small price to pay for such a huge difference in usability. I chose a momentary switch, but you could probably splurge and get a variable speed pedal. Either way, do yourself a favor...I am hoping the use of water-based degreaser will help increase the longevity of the pump. The filter media is a nother measure to protect the pump. It also makes it easier to extract the pump for storage. I don't leave the pump submerged.
Nobody else .

Not a good value For the moneyReally sorry pump that was a problem right out of the box Pumped dry solvent for about 2 minutes and stoppedTook the cover off and played with it and it worked for a couple days then jammed againTook it apart again and threw out the shaft bushing and it worked a few minutes before it quit again and I gave up tryingCheap and not recommended, especially for the price I paid

Purchased this item for personal use. The item took over three weeks to arrive and the box was damaged. Inside the parts were broken and appeared to be previously used. The cord was scuffed and makes a rattling sound when plugged in. Not worth the money

Garbage as a parts washer. The pump is an aquarium pump rated for use with water only as stated on the label. Pump failed after 2nd use.
