I delayed updating the original Arlo app until it stopped working. Updates are usually not friendly these days with an older Android phone that I like. So from the original Arlo birdie to the house icon, a bunch of other functions I neither want nor need, began to appear. Now every time I go to the app, I cannot view the "feed" or my recorded videos without answering a s-load of questions that don't apply to my original Arlo cameras. And now two original Arlo cameras no longer function. I won't bother contacting Arlo for support because I know they won't help me with their original, subscription-free cameras.I easily added this Pro 5S 2k to the app, but there were too many settings and functions that didn't work. The record quality was excellent, but that's the only positive. One of many problems: Why did the spotlight randomly activate when there was plenty of lighting? When I toggled the spotlight setting off, why did it fail to activate when needed? Why should I even have to research this issue when the spotlight should simply activate in low lighting? The settings weren't entirely intuitive, and when I had to research an issue, the instructions and menu items didn't apply. I returned the camera.To add insult to injury, I couldn't remove this camera from the app after boxing it up to send back. No kidding! Because the camera's battery was removed and the camera was offline, I had to look up how to remove the camera because I couldn't find that option on the app. Navigate to settings: Open the camera settings page. Remove device: Look for the option to "Remove Device" or "Delete Device" and select it. Yeah, I looked for it. Check out my screenshot. As usual, this option didn't apply. First I wasted time chatting with Arlo support. He gave me the same instructions. I finally had to unbox the camera again and load the battery to remove the camera from the app. Great choice to return this POS. RIP original Arlo cams and app with birdie icon.

However, its high bandwidth usage, shorter battery life, reliance on a strong internet connection, and potential ongoing costs for cloud storage may be drawbacks for some users. As long as you can follow along with the video in the app, installation is a breeze! Although it can be tricky if you aren’t tech savvy and handy with tools. Overall the performance is A1, especially the zoom in on the license plates, but the battery life isn’t what I’d hoped. & mine does lag a tiny bit. But I do recommend!

I have bought a number of Arlo cameras for each property and they work great once setup.Cons - setup is painful and never seems to be smooth. Nice to have a 1800 for customer service.

Me considero muy bueno con tecnologÃa, sin embargo tomé más de una hora y media en configurar la cámara ya que la aplicación es una pesadilla.La cámara funciona muy bien y tiene muy buena calidad de video, pero para poder usar todo lo que ofrece, es necesario una suscripción. Ya que es una cámara Wi-Fi, si se te va la luz no quedará el video guardado en ningún lugar, a pesar de ser una cámara inalámbrica con baterÃa integrada.Las notificaciones inteligentes se pueden configurar iguales para todo un grupo de cámaras y no diferentes por cámara.No lo volveré a comprar por los costos elevados de la suscripción y la mala interfaz de la aplicación.
