Using this for my Xfinity backup internet on my unifi equipment. Works fine with my 300mb plan. It's an older device though and those who want or need higher speeds at some point will need something more substantial. However for my backup internet needs, works great.

The number of channels on a network has increased with the rise of digital media. I bought this to allow twice the channels as our older Arris modem. After our provider had done their magic the modem was working fine. Our network is now running more smoothly and dependable with fewer drops. Not the latest but it has met our needs.

I was impressed when I speed tested this modem alongside the 4 year old Cox rental "Panoramic Gateway" or some such nonsense modem (also has WiFi router. Got about 20% better speeds with the SB6190. From 500Gbps to 600Gbps. You can use it for gigabit service, provided your service provider allows a gigabit connection with a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. The irony is that I only pay for a 250Gbps line. But I figure they owe me plenty because I only just realized how dual band WiFi works and that I have been renting a dual band modem for 4 years that has the 5GHz locked out and discovered the Wi-Fi wouldn't even let me change the channels to support a range extender.I also got a renewed Linksys E7350 Wifi/Ethernet router because the SB6190 only has a single Ethernet port and I need more than that. Now I can return the crappy Cox modem and eliminate $15 from my monthly bill. I can't believe how much I paid for that thing over 4 years.

does not work with Xfinity, and does not allow me to change password and name, their IP address didn't wanna work so I don't know what's the password, seems to be too old for 2025 , I will return it for sure and go back to Motorola modem

I got rid of the Xfinity modem, which Xfinity tried to charge me $15 per month for after the introductory term ended. I bought this one, connected it to the cable, and it works perfectly without any issues. Just be aware that if you are paying for higher internet speeds, this modem may not be sufficient.

Power adapter was not included, just a data cordEdit: Seller sent a power adapter upon my request. However, I needed it sooner so I ordered one from Amazon with 1 day delivery. Had our internet service provider (Comcast) set it up remotely, so that was easy. Lights on front are VERY bright, but you can log in to the admin panel URL to turn the lights off.
