I do a lot of my own DIY work at home. I have regular Arrow staplers that I use for many things like reupholstering furniture...etc... I bought this stapler to install my home security system and outdoor cameras. I was running a low voltage wire from small solar panel to a camera. It was EXTREMELY difficult to press hard enough to get a staple to shoot. My hand literally hurt. Used for 12 staples and it stopped working. I messed around with it for about an hour more, then gave up. Sent it back. NIce looking. lightweight, but, HORRIBLE QUALITY. DO NOT BUY. I went to a hardware store and got the heavier older version of the Arrow T25. Its much heavier but it shoots easier and works much better.

I got this specifically for installing Christmas lights. I had been using hooks where I was hanging lights along wood surfaces and was a bit disappointed where the lights would sag in between the hooks. Using the round head staples is a great solution. The stapler must be set so that it doesn’t push them too far down. You will see in the closeups that the staples aren’t compressing the wire against the wood. I really like that I can hang lights flush against the bottom side of my deck rail. The staples go in pretty easily to softwoods like redwood. The old dry panels on the barn were a little bit more dense so the staples didn’t go in quite as far but still held the wires. If you look at the bottom of the stapler, you will see two metal nubs. If you get the cord in between those two metal bits, the staple will not penetrate the wire. I bought this style of stapler to stand out from the other staple guns I have so I can identify it easily in the workshop. I will say that sometimes I have to squeeze the handle a couple of times before it hammers a staple out. I’m not sure if that’s a design issue or a matter of my grip when I’m twisting and stretching to reach the place I want the staples. Sometimes it shoots out two staples. But overall, I’m quite happy and particularly like that it all allows me to get the lights up in a straight line, rather than having irregular arcs where they sag in between eye hooks. I had tried using cable clips with the little nail and the plastic arm for outdoor lights and can tell you this is a far superior method. I took off one star for the stapler not firing each time it squeezed and occasional double staples.

Straddles ethernet cable consistently without damage. Holds firmly in wood. I do a lot of work on networks, IP cameras and similar. This stapler goes to every job and saves incalculable time. Lightweight and doesn't require excessive pressure. Zero misfires.

The first T25x stapler was ordered as a replacement for my old Arrow T25p wire & cable stapler (the old chrome one). The first T25x constantly fired two staples at a time, mis-fired occasionally, and jammed occasionally. I requested a return and a replacement. The second T25x fires single staples constantly, as it should, although it is much harder to squeeze. I can live with that so long as it continues to work correctly. One thing I noticed about my old T25p is that it tends to work a little better with new staples. It’s possible the old staples I was using, and that experienced constant jams with, were corroded somewhat and contributed to some of the problem. The other thing I dislike about the old T25p is that you have to remove a screw and a nut and disassemble the feed tray in order to clear jams. The new T25x has an open bottom drop-in mechanism that is way better and easier to clear jams with. I guess I’ll keep the new T25x (the second one) and return the first one. From the “feel” of the new T25x I don’t have much hope for longevity. It just doesn’t feel that rugged. I plan to keep my old T25p as a backup and replace that screw that I mentioned with something a little easier to remove and replace. Oddly, there doesn’t seem to be many brands of staplers for low voltage wiring and Arrow is the most affordable. I’d pay more if there’s one that performs better than Arrow.

This model is much better than the older Arrow model that jams and takes 5 minutes to clear while you lose all the small parts. This model rarely jams and is easy to clear if it does. It also applies the perfect amount of pressure to hold the wire without crimping it.

1st staple worked fine, kept jamming after that. May take it apart to see if I can fix. While I'd like to return and get a refund, I've tossed out the packaging and I don't want to see some else stuck with this.Edit: Took it apart. The problem - too much plastic - poor design. Both sides of the unit are plastic and can't support the metal pin that's part of the firing mechanism. One side was broken so pressing the handle wouldn't properly fire the mechanism to drive the staple. Unable to tell if it was broken when rec'd or if it failed after the 2nd attempt to staple. Disassembled; plastic parts into the garbage, metal into recycle bin. Last Arrow product I will purchase.
