What I like about the ART USBMix4 are the many possibilities to simultaneously mix vocals, electric guitar, electronic drums and backtracks in combination with a computer to practice playing guitar. Using the USB to play and to record works very well, even on my Linux computer. I also use a computer application to add guitar effects but this caused latency. After I installed JACK (jack audio connection kit) and added a user with realtime scheduling the latency was not noticeable any more. Note that the latency was not caused by the USBMix4 and the USB connection (A/D conversion). The sound quality is good, there is no hiss, hum, buzzing or other noticeable distortion at the recommended volume settings. The unit itself deserves 4.5 stars but the omission of a functional diagram with the possible mixing options, as customary with other quality mixers, is a drawback. The examples in the supplied manual were not sufficient. At the end I made my own drawing. Another drawback was the delivery by Landmark. The track and trace did not work and the mixer was delivered without notification. Luckely I was home, but the was by coincidence.

It's a great mixer. Good to use as a Karaoke gig. However slightly line noise can be heard when the music is not strong. Overall I am satisfied with it.
