This is a revised and improved version of Victorian Needlepoint. These are the same projects but she has made modifications to improve the designs. These changes apparently have not been noticed by people who say this is the exact same book. This book is an edited version of the first book. (I have both books.) Also the charts are not hand drawn and are easier to read. If you have the earlier book you may not want this one. However, if you love the earlier one and wish the patterns were easier to read you might want this one, especially for the revisions which improve the designs. I think she should have given the book the same name, as an updated and revised version.

Need to learn lots of new stitches. Diagrams okay but a little confusing at times. Nice styles and forms. Sometimes colors drab but those can be worker's choice.

I love the Arts and Crafts movement and these needlepoint patterns did not disappoint.

Buyer beware! I would give this more stars except for the fact it is exactly, and I mean exactly the very same book as Victorian Needlepoint by the same author. I'm talking word for word, page by page, project by project. The only difference is the title and cover. So I guess if I had been able to see the table of contents for both books I could have know it was the same. But wouldn't you know, only Arts & Crafts Needlepoint allowed you to see the table of contents. Kind of makes you wonder if that was on purpose! The only thing I can do now is try and find someone to give the other book to.All that being said, do buy one of them as the projects are very well done as well as some history on William Morris and the arts and crafts movement.

Another fabulous book by Beth Russell. Beautiful charts and all the wool quantities are given etc. Also bought William Morris Needlepoint, the two books complement each other, different designs in each. A real must for anyone seriously interested in needlepoint.

Good clear explanations. Ideal for beginner wanting to make something worthwhile. Would recommend this book for anyone who likes William Morris.
