This product arrived in a large heavy box with what appeared to be real wood. Instructions were easy and the way the manufacturer places clued blcokors on parts and within the packaging are extremely helpful. We had this put together in about an hour. Best instructions we've seen in a long time. The build is sturdy and they essentially made the assembly fool proof.It's a great product that holds a good sized mattress. We placed this in our game room and it's one of the most comfortable prices of furniture - we all want to sit in there.I would buy this again and again and again.

I got the product earlier than the expected delivery date. It came in two boxes and not one. There were video instructions as well as paper instructions. If you can follow basic directions, it's an easy assembly. And honestly, the whole thing can be assembled with one person except the last step.It requires you to lift the thing and inserted into the grooves of the arms. YOU NEED TWO PEOPLE for that step. It can be done with one but I DO NOT suggest that. It is not worth the struggle or pain. It is solid wood so it can be slightly heavy move up/around. But instructions are super clear. They even put color dots on each part so you know you're putting it in the right direction.I want to give it a 4.5 but can't so the one star off is because I had a slightly broken part, one of the sides broke and one of the parts didn't quite fit into the groove. But I contacted the supplier and they were very quick to send a new part. Going to receive it tomorrow. The person who helped me on the phone was very courteous and helpful.

Used on top of a very hard futon sofa mattress. Fell asleep on it a few times with no complaints. It also makes the sofa layout shallower for a more comfortable seat instead of being deep down into it.

I bought this for my mother at her request and when it was delivered I told her I would be over in the morning to help her set it up, but when I got there her and my 10 year old niece had already done it. So it was so easy that a woman on disability and a child could set it up. It's been two months and it seems really sturdy. And she loves it

At most, I might post one negative review every year. I held off submitting this post for several months, but I’m experiencing severe buyers remorse with this purchase. The shipment consisted of two boxes, of which one was smashed.The quality of the wood pieces wasn’t particularly bad, but neither was it good. I found the instructions very difficult to follow. Some of wooden frames were stapled together with cloth bindings; weird. Most problematic is that the long metal screws wouldn’t fit in the holes of the prefabbed wooden support beams. I attempted to make the screws fit which resulted in the wood breaking apart where the holes were located.For a purchase close to $400.00, I’d expected a better quality product. Don’t purchase this product, as I’m pretty certain you’ll regret it. I would suggest you spend a couple hundred more and get a real futon at a local retail establishment. Buyers remorse, you ask? Yes, and I paid. Don’t ask me how but I’ve managed to make use of some more f the wood that came with this kit.

Piece is good quality for the money. Solid wood, sturdy, and has a good weight to it. Takes about an hour or so to assemble with one person. Only reason for the 4 stars is that the listing said minimal assembly required. The only parts that came pre-assembled were the straps attached to the slats, and the arms. Otherwise very pleased with the purchase.
