Control arms and ball joints should be checked and replaced when you encounter the following problems:
Steering Wheel Vibrations
When the bushings or ball joints in the control arm become excessively worn it can cause wheel shimmy, which may cause vibrations felt in the wheel.The intensity of the vibrations will increase as you step on the accelerator pedal to go faster.
Clunking Noises
If the control arms or ball joints develop excessive play or looseness, this can cause them to knock during takeoff, or when the vehicle is traveling over rough terrain. The clunking sound will continuously get louder as the component wears or until it eventually breaks.
Steering Wandering
Excessively worn ball joints or bushings can cause the vehicle’s steering alignment to shift, which may cause the steering to pull to the left or right when traveling down the road.

Just installed these on my '09 GMC Sierra, along with new tie rod ends, stabilizer links, and lower ball joints. Overall, significant improvement in handling and ride quality... but that's a product of all new front-end components.These went in easily enough, and are a good fit for my truck. The quality and construction appears similar to the OEM control arms that they replaced, so I'm hopeful that I'll get a similar lifespan out of them. Time will tell as far as longevity for the bushings and ball joints, but they appear that they'll last a good long time.Overall, a good value, and I would recommend.

I change the upper control arm because both of the control arm boots where bad, the quality looks good. Happy with my purchase.

These are the same size as the original so they were a near perfect fit, it's been a couple months since I installed them on my 2015 Silverado and they're still working fine, no problems yet so I'd say they're worth every penny.They feel sturdy and a little heavy, the ball joint feels well made, it has a tip for your grease gun so make sure you don't lose those because I don't think it has any on it.I'll make an update if anything happens.

I installed these front upper control arms on my 2008 Silverado at 133k miles along with new link stabilizers and strut assemblies. The upper control arms do not have as "beefy" rubber boots as the lower control arms and there was visible wear on the uppers which prompted replacement. The decision to replace the upper control arms, struts, and link stabilizers at the same time made sense, but I decided to wait on the lower control arms as they still looked to be OK. The front upper control arms were installed without any issues. Post installation of all of the new front-end parts and my truck drove straight and true and didn't even require a front-end alignment. My truck is handling like new again!
