In most rivet nut sets, the #10-24 mandrel is included. In rack mounted equipment the screws are #10-32. They don't interchange.I do some rack mounted hardware and this inexpensive addition solves the issue for me.

Many reviewers have had the same issue as me; in various riveter nut sets and mandrels purchased separately, the one stamped 10-32 is actually a 10-24. So in many sets you end up with two of 10-24, one which is incorrectly stamped 10-32. This item solves the problem for $4 - you don't need a top nut as the one from the wrongly marked 10-32 is the correct size.

It took 5 tries, but I finally got the correctly threaded mandrel. I can't figure out why this was so difficult.They kept sending me mandrels that were threaded 10-24 ( even though they were marked 10-32). Iwas ready to give up trying, but thankfully I gave it one last try and they got it corrected.

In the picture, the one on the right is the original that I accidentally bent and ordered a replacement part. The one on the left, along with the packaging, is what arrived. It does install into the tool but it's too short to actually install a plusnut. The description says this is compatible with the 1450.

mine came out as a 10-24, not 10-32 like the package said

WAS BENT .I think it will work since i straightened it out. JUNK JUNK
