for wear and tear, the normal service life of about 300‑400 hours, in addition to damage caused by careless , the use of pressure is too heavy, crude and poor quality records and shaking serious turntable will shorten the life of the tip.

Good sounding cartridge well worth its' low prices and more. I have an several cartridges more expensive than the AT-3600-L and this cartridge performs almost as well with a slightly noticeable highs. Good bass and really good seperation. Unless your are a high end audiofile you really can't wrong wrong with this outstanding budget cartridge from Audio Technica.
