So I bought this unit as I have over 1,500 DVD’s and needed a better way to store them. Let me also let you know I bought this unit after much comparison in pricing, DVD storage, and versatility. I purchased before reading the reviews and I am so glad I did. These reviews are unfair to the product and clearly show shoddy workmanship on the part of the builder, not the manufacturer. I believe all negative reviews are by those that just use electronic screwdrivers to just plow screws in with minimal effort.I was so nervous after reading the reviews that I took my time and assembled everything slowly by hand, ensuring everything was square and tight. I took a deep breath as I went to lift the thing as i assembled by myself and so many review say the unit is flimsy and breaks...The unit was solid as a rock.. I was so surprised as i didn’t attatch the the backing as I dont want it and was worried even further about stability. I can assure you, as a guy not very adept at building furniture, this shelf is super solid if constructed CORRECTLY! I am so happy with the unit and so disappointed in the false reviews it prompted me to write one, which I never do, I usually just give a rating. It is so clear to me after my experience that these reviews are by those that don't take the time to do good work or don't read the instructions. I know that if your gonna do a thing, take the time to get it right, the first time. Effort is needed, but it is well worth the effort.Lets just say I've bought a second unit of these and may come back for a third. This is an excellent shelf for cost and storage capacity and is very attractive once built. I cannot speak to this shelf being less in quality than its previous model, as I do not own anything else from this company. However, I felt obliged to review as I feel the negative reviews stem from user error and not the manufacturer.Just my two cents. Good luck with your organization or interior design endeavors. This is an excellent costomizable, low profile, media shelf. I highly recommend!

I have a LOT of CDs. This holds a ton and doesn't take up a lot of space. It's not a fine piece of furniture but looks decent for its utility and the price. I took another reviewers advice and put a piece of 3/16 in thick hardboard on the back. Not sure how much sturdier it made it but it is plenty sturdy now. I have wall to wall carpet so I also put a piece on the bottom 1 1/2 inches from the back as a notch for the carpets tack strip. It would likely have a small tendency to lean forward if not for that. If you have wood floors no worries. I also assembled it on a bed with the front down. This allowed me to completely assemble it including the foot board without needing to turn it over. Overall, I'm quite happy with it.

Was looking for some shelving solutions for my videogame collection. You don't really get many options for ~6" deep cabinets nowadays. There used to be IKEA Gnedby but they stopped manufacturing these some time ago. What you can get now is either this or Prepac. I own Prepac and is of much better quality but the design they did doesn't allow to put multiple of cabinets next to each other without introducing gap.I must say I don't usually write reviews but in this case I will gladly spend an hour just to tell my fellow collectors my experience so you know what you order. Now about this Atlantic cabinet.I kind of expected it's going to be bad, but not THIS BAD.I ordered 3 of these.Packing:Nothing is packed right, styrofoam blocks break inside due to uneven parts placement, all 3 boxes had everything broken inside. The problem here is that tiny styrofoam particles stick to the tape which holds back panel together and it is preventing the back panel from fully opening when you nail it. You will have to remove each styrofoam particle before nailing and that is tedious. It could have been easily solved by putting back panels in a plastic bag. Small parts like nails and shelf pins were scattered around the box because of the same packing issue, all 3 cabinet boxes suffered from the same problem.Assembly:Wooden dowels are 1 SIZE SMALLER than the holes for them. It wiggles inside and doesn't provide any support. Due to that, you're not going to get any nice 90 degree angle between cabinet walls and horizontal pieces. Plastic inserts in horizontal panels have different depths and easily pop up. Don't tighten any of these, hand screw them in and make a couple turns back, otherwise you risk breaking everything when you lock it in place. You will have to hand adjust each one as everything is different!Overall construction is flimsy, might break when you turn it around to install a back panel, be extra careful and absolutely somebody should be helping you. Foundation piece sticks out so when you turn it around for back panel installation, you will have to put something big and wide under it, I used the packing boxes it came with but you won't get enough if you ordered just one cabinet.Quality:No signs of any quality whatsoever. Everything feels borderline cheap and it seems like every part was made by a different person. Frontal edge trim is almost peeling off in some spots, it bends when you touch it. Most of the edge corners have a marker touch up to hide imperfections I guess. When you turn on the light you see the purple marker shine under an angle. Other wooden parts have same touch up marker to hide scratches. Some shelf pin holes are too wide and pin wiggles inside and sometimes drops out (yes, I know that one shelf pin side is wider). Nothing is level and nothing is even here. Each shelf cutouts look different, have different length, depth and shape. It's often unstable and you can only hope it will hold up under the weight of your CD's. I'm adding a few photos here.Verdict:If you have any other option in mind - DON'T BUY THIS. Seriously I regret buying it and I'd hate to disassemble everything and send it back. For the future I consider to take IKEA Kallax and cut it so it's 1/2 deep.

As a Canadian this can be a little on the pricey side for what you're getting, however if you're looking for a really tall shelving unit for holding media this is the best shelving unit out there. This will hold DVD cases, CD cases, NES carts, figurines, and other collectibles and looks fantastic. The only drawback that I can see is there is a stationary shelf about halfway up that can make it difficult to get the spacing you want if you fill this shelf up. But that's a minor issue and you can work around it easily.I previously used the for displaying all of my video game collection. These are great shelves and actually have higher quality materials from what I can tell, however they are fairly short, so I was only able to use up about 1/2 of my wall space. These Atlantic cabinets are about 6 feet tall so they're exactly what I needed. I plan to get another one in the not so distant future.

Extremely happy with the purchase of this product. I purchased the shelf unit with the purpose of using it in my pantry to store dry good food products. Happy to report that there were no missing screws and hubby found the assembly much easier than some past projects. Love the adjustable shelves and the fact that they are just deep enough to store canned goods. Finally I can walk into my pantry and at a glace see what food products I have on hand.

Looks great, but don't plan on ever moving it, cause it will fall apart....

I have been a DVD collector for years. This finally gives me a way to display all of the close to a thousand DVD series I have. This is a very thin unit and as such barely stands up right by it self empty. Once loaded this is a hazard if not attached to the wall with the supplied brackets and as the company highly recommends. All in all though lots of compliments about it

Relatively easy to assemble. Follow the directions and you will have no issues. Two people required. Not sturdy until back is nailed on and screwed to the wall. Will hold 600+ cd’s. Compact and looks nice. Not a quality product but decent value for the money.
