Yes it’s pricey. Yes it weighs more than other mounts. But there is a reason Atomos went through the trouble to create this wonderful device. You don’t need to carry tools with you. Once you adjust it to your liking at home, you are done! It comes with a quick release plate to make mounting fast and secure. As you can see in the attached photo (Common Loon chick), my use case is photographing birds from a Hobie pedal kayak. I need a monitor to easily get water level shots by placing the camera on my leg. The built-in articulating monitor on my Olympus OM-1 is just too small and at the wrong height to be useful. An external monitor makes tracking waterbirds trivial. In a kayak, I wanted nothing to do with other mounts whose reviewers constantly talked about the need to readjust them.On the kayak I have a very small camera bag in which my camera with lens and Atomos mount are attached. I keep the monitor unattached until I have found my targets. Then I quickly attach the monitor via the quick release plate and plug in the HDMI cable. No fidgeting ever required.I bought cheap batteries and cheap HDMI cables. But definitely not interested in cheap mounts. I couldn’t be happier.

Yes, this mount is expensive, but having had another brand, I can tell you this one you can trust. It's solid and has no play when the Atomos Ninja V is installed on it. I had a less expensive option in the past and the metal actually cracked. Again, this is a bit on the expensive side for just a small mount, but I would say it's worth it. Buy once, cry once!

The SmallRig product is better.

It connected solidly, it doesn't flop around like the crap that Phoenix Photo includes in their Ninja V package deals.

I had great expectations from this mount, especially considering that it is nearly thrice as expensive as the Ulanzi hummingbird. The top clamp is impeccable. My main issue is with the bottom hot shoe mount. No matter how hard you tighten it down there is still a bit of wiggle and play. Very well built but I wouldn’t recommend it over other clamps at this price point. An Arri style bottom clamp with locating pins option would make this perfect.

Excellent material quality, however combined external monitor, cage and battery weight is too much for pivot points to hold monitor angle.

This is the right product for my needs. The locking mechanism allows me to easily switch out the camera configurations and the hold the screen firmly in place when i need it to.

I felt this was really overpriced, however the build quality is good, and it is very convenient to use.Being able to rotate the monitor 360 degrees help when film interviews or when you have someone else pulling focus. The quick release mechanism works well too.The only downside is how tight you have to turn the clamping mechanism on the hot shoe to ensure a secure fit.
