First, use a 27/64 drill bit to make a hole for this tap.This tool is nice and sharp, and tapped aluminum very easily with just a couple drops of oil. We all know that tapping aluminum can be tricky sometimes, having to go back and forth, back and forth, until we finally get it done. That wasn't necessary with this one. I tapped the hole until it was as deep as I needed, and done!

I needed to tap the hitch mount bolts for my g1 vibe because the hardware was not threading in all the way. This tap, some penetrating oil, and some patient turning got the threads cleaned up so I could get to towing some small loads. I don't know when I'll use the tap again, but it comes with a compact case so you can keep it clean, oiled and ready for use in a drawer.

This arrived very quickly. It came with a protective plastic container. It worked great for my purpose in re-threading a suspension pivot on a bike. Good product for sure and a good value.

This is just what I needed to clean out my old rusty trailer hitch holes on the frame of my 2013 Honda CR-V. I started by using some pb blaster and a plumbers wire brush pipe cleaning tool. While this didn't go all the way into the threads, it did remove some dirt and rust at the base of the hole. I then used the tap to clean out / renew the threads. Three of the four holes were fairly easy, but the fourth was more problematic. The forth is blocked by the muffler and it was difficult to get the tap to thread into that one. This one hole took me about fifteen minutes to get the tap to seat properly. Finally got it and now the threads are like new. There is no way I could have gotten the bolts for my trailer hitch into these mounting nut holes without this tap.

Great tap, this is 90% of oxygen sensors threads. A must have for anyone who works on cars in the rust belt and doesn't have a large tap and die set.

Over the years some of my lug bolts were semi stripped as were a couple of hub threads. Suspect tire shops in a hurry. This tap worked perfectly to chase the threads back to spec easily. Use wd40 and watch a couple you tube videos bc its important to go slow and to counter-rotate multiple times to clear out debris. Lastly, blow out the threads - air compressor or canned air for keyboard cleaning - and install new lug bolts. Like new. Very happy with this tool.

Tenias mis dudas al ser de gran diámetro de rosca y usar solo un macho, cuando normalmente se pasan 3, pero con paciencia y poco a poco a quedado la rosca perfecta, recomendable.
