Ring gear is not afixed dead center on the flex plate, this allows you to draw the distance out from, or close in the space between flex plate and starter by simply flipping it 180° unlike many older OEM parts.

Cheap and solid. Not using it on a vehicle but works great to let me power my bead roller.

I installed item, set starter clearance 2 times noticed it seamed to change. Tried to start and starter was jambing over 1/4 of the ring gear. Set starter clearance again tried to start and took out teeth on starter, checked ring gear with dial indicater and found it out by .50 thousands plus a huge wabble in it.Asked for refund and compinsation.Will update(motor was just dynoed with dyno flexplate and my starter worked fine, only 8.5 to 1 comp)

I went from an externally balanced 454 to a internally balanced stroker 489 which required both harmonic damper and flexplate have no counterweight in it. I bought this one and is working fine. At first I was concerned that the toothed ring is not continuously welded, but then I realized this takes force only during cranking. I don't have a 14:1 race engine. It's a mild 9:1 low-end torque 489 monster. Working fine so far.

This didn't fit the transmissions it specifies. And they are forcing me to pay $20 to ship it back, which is half the price of the item.
