I have used this a lot, It works good for bearings and seals, the many different sizes make it work well with many different items. It is aluminum and the handle has mushroomed a bit from hitting with the hammer on some bearing installs. I would buy again as it is great for the cost.

I used this to install the bearing races on my boat trailer hubs. If you are using for Timken bearing Set4 & Set17 this kit has the correct sizes. For my occasional use it's fine, and at a good price point.

This is a reasonably priced set of decent quality. Yes, it is made of a softer aluminum material. If you use them as they are designed to be used you will be fine. First off they are made of aluminum and aluminum is softer than the hardened steel that bearings are made of. If they were made of a hard material then they could damage the bearings that you are installing. That would defeat the purpose of using the correct tool …. right? You don’t just beat the crap out of the race to install it… you do the prep work first! Make sure that the housing that the race is being installed in is clean and lubricated. I usually put the hub in the sun and let it get hot. I take the race and put them in the refrigerator and cool it down to “ shrink†it a little. Then you just position the race properly into the hub “squarely†and give it a couple of taps to get it started. Once started you can increase the amount of pressure you are exerting on the tool with your hammer blows. DON’T BEAT IT TO DEATH! It will go into the hub just remember that slow and steady will get you there and your tool intact when done. Too many times people are too impatient and they tear up good equipment because they just don’t have the patience.They worked perfectly for me in replacing the bearings on my trailer and the set has all the proper sizes for my particular application. It comes in a good plastic box for storage and all the different slots for the sizes are marked on the inside of the box as well as on the adapters.

Good product. Typical/ useful sizes. I don't use a tool to tighten the bolt on the handle. Just hand tighten it on. Sometimes I don't even use the bolt and the tool works great.

Haven't used yet but seems of good quality. Very unhappy about seller advertising. 2 day Prime members delivery turned into 5 day with no explanation. Unacceptable.
