Had to replace my OLD harbor freight spring compressor that stripped. This one works MUCH better and much easier. Worth the price.

The amount of energy in compressed springs scares the hell out of me. I felt better with the fact that these have locking pins and that they snap -positively- into position and stay there. This set did a good job compressing all four coil springs on my 1995 Mazda Protege when it was time to replace the shock absorbers. I'm pleased with this purchase.

This mostly did what I expected. It could have a couple of design changes for my application. It wanted to slide on the spring, it would be nice to have a safe way to hold onto the bottom of the strut. My springs are not tall, it would have worked much better if there were more coils on the spring.

Used this to compress the strut springs on my Tundra. It was very ez to use and I felt very safewhile doing the job. Some friends said they wouldn't use it, glad I didn't listen to them. When used as directed it is very safe.

I bought this tool to fix the struts on my '91 Legacy. Honestly, I was a little nervous, being my first time compressing a spring and hearing the horror stories that come of it, and it being a cheaper tool; but as soon as I hooked this tool up, I knew I made a good decision. The locking pins held wonderfully, it held on the spring quite comfortably, and made the job quick and easy. Very pleased with this purchase, even if I never use the tool again.

I have a set that’s 50 years old. I didn’t think they were safe. These have a locking pin to hold them on the spring. A good value.

These are complete junk. Not only did the bar bend easily but when putting the front spring back in I had to cut off a length of the bolt because it was hitting the outer housing at the top where the spring goes in preventing it from going in fully. I definitely would not recommend this product.

Pro’s - solid - nice case - works as advertised- end accepts 1/2†socket - worked great for ATV suspension - priceCons - got a metal sliver taking it out of the case, must have never been cleaned after threading - d rings / loops that hold the retainer pins in aren’t the best, retainer pins are a little extra snug.
