I love the Aubert #7 bridges and have been carving/using them for almost a decade now. They're probably the best value in a bridge blank. I actually prefer these over the "Luxe" and "De Luxe" bridges which have declined in quality in recent years and now are basically at or below the level of quality of this model albeit with more prominently figured wood. A shame that Amazon only carries the standard size, but they can hardly be expected to be a luthierie warehouse, and this is a good price, particularly with Prime shipping!

The VB-7 is, quite simply, the best bang for the buck with Aubert bridges. They have a model called the VB-5 which is a bit less expensive and a fine bridge for student violins, but the VB-7 is sort of their entry line into higher quality bridges, and its maple has a good tone. The VB-8 and 10 retail for almost the same price, and are their more deluxe models, but at that range, you're getting into bridges for upper-end violins. Be aware, from a woodworker perspective, that the differences are incredibly subtle. It has to do with the age of the wood and whether or not they're treated and how the grain is selected. Subtle differences can make a difference on a violin, but they don't work magic.Keep in mind this is a bridge BLANK. This needs to be cut and shaped by a luthier. You can't just plop this on your violin and expect it to be of any use. Your favourite luthier may prefer his/her own bridges, or may use a higher quality as a standard.

Good bridge. it was a little high for me at first but after a little playing time I found that it was a blessing in disguise. There are no notched seats in the top for the strings so if you aren't experienced in setting the strings then I would have a more experienced person set them for you. Your overall playing experience won't decrease using this bridge. Great find and very sturdy.

You should know what you’re doing when you buy a bridge it takes a little bit of know how to install the bridge properly

The Aubert VB 7 was a perfect fit on my COPY Strad.model 1721. I was able to fit the feet perfectly flat on the violin, unlike the Aubert VB 8 and 10. The sound quality is as good or better than the VB 8 and 10.

Did I sign up to do work ? Lol there are no notches on this bridge and it is completely symmetrical along with the fact that it’s EXTRA thick. I ain’t putting this 2x4 on my violin 🤚ðŸ»and I don’t feel like doing extra work. On the bright side It got here on time but... Lol I need a refund guys I ain’t a woodworker 🙄
