It is a 3/8" pipe thread.

It activates your fan when the temperature reaches 200 degrees and turns off at approximately 185 degrees.

This kit is perfect for any of our 10", 12", 14", and 16" inch fans, as well as our dual fans.

It is an advance Fan Thermostat Temperature Switch than traditional mechanical pressure sender.

Installation tips:

1.Turning off the engine, replace the new cooling fan temperature switches after the water in engine radiator cooled to the room temperature.

2.Avoid the external high heat source after installation.

3.Avoid sprinkling water on surrounding auto parts during the installation.

Package include:

1 pcs Fan Thermostat Temperature Switch

How to replace it?

SINGLE SWITCH MODELS

1.Locate the cooling fan switch near the thermostat housing on the left side of engine behind the distributor assembly. The switch wire colors should be green and black.

2.Disconnect the wire terminal from the cooling fan switch.

3.Allow the engine to reach a coolant temperature of 196-203°F (91-95°C).

4.Using a suitable ohmmeter or continuity tester, check for continuity between the two fan switch terminals. The fan switch should have continuity (switch closed) at the above temperatures. The switch should have no continuity (switch open) when the temperature drops between 5-15°F (3-8°C) from the temperature that the switch first had continuity (switch closed).

5.If the switch does not operate within the range of the supplied information, allow the engine to cool below 100°F (37°C) and replace the switch.

WARNING

Submerging the electric cooling fan switch below the threads could damage the component. Coolant must be used for this test as the boiling point of water is below the temperature required for testing some of the sensors. Perform this procedure in a safe and well-ventilated area. Do not breathe any fumes from the heated coolant. Wear eye protection and use care to not come in contact with any of the heated components. Do not use a heating device that produces an open flame.

Needed this to turn on the cooling fan in my custom 55’ F100 truck. Works like it should.*** update: the switch quit working. Noticed my temp climbing while setting and the fan was not working. Tested it later and the fan works fine. This switch would not make contact inside to send the ground signal.

When you are opting to have electric radiator cooling fans as primary or supplemental units, this thermal switch enables the fans to cycle automatically. If the fans are controlled through a relay, this thermal switch will ground the relay at 200 degrees and open at 180 degrees allowing the fan(s) to cycle in that range. Perfect solution for aftermarket systems, for resto-mods, after market A/C or just additional cooling with supplemental fans.

I’m currently on my second switch. The first switch I bought had issues from the start. 200-185 quickly became 212-185. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted but the switch worked and kept the motor with in reason. 3 days later the switch died. Currently on my second switch and it activates the cooling fan relays at 201 degrees and is much more accurate. I’d wire in an override toggle switch to ground just in case the switch fails.

Function great. If there are different sizes would be better to select according to my installation

The switch close and completes ground for function. It works ok for me, but it is not the temperature specified. All of these seem to turn on 15 degrees higher than rated. For example, this one turns on at about 215. I am sure some of it has to do with exactly where you place it on your engine or radiator, but I have mine exactly where the same thermostat sensor is for the car dash. I suppose if I put this in a pan of heated water with a thermostat it would complete circuit above 200. Perhaps it STARTS to close at 200, not precisely at 200. Anyway, I will just buy the lower temperature rated one, but I wish I didn't have to buy it twice essentially.

Has threads for both manifold and heads. Works consistently so far.

Garbage, inaccurate garbage. Water temp reached 240 before closing contact and opened at 230. Bought a 185 on, 175 off it closed way too early, so I figured this would be the perfect match for the 195 thermostat and it probably would be if it worked. This is the second 200 on 185 off I’ve ordered, the first one never closed. For what I have spent I should have ordered an adjustable controller in the first place. No more goofin around with it, I ordered the flexalite adjustable controller.
