Bought this as a replacement for the metal ridged roller as it turns out they are detrimental to the performance of sound deadening material and deminiah the efficiency ofn the CLD material. Looks well made. I like the elasticity. I squeezed it and it is solid yet elastic. Rolled it on a flat surface and gave it some pressure and felt the elaativ response. If it was the metal ones i would have flattened the butyl. Will give it a go on sound deadening in a week or so and provide an update

I used this roller to install sound deadening mats to the inside of my vents. It was solid and did a great job flattening the mats. I liked the roller arm on only one side as it made flattening corners and odd angles easy.

I purchased this roller to maximize the adhesion of some sound deadening material I purchased .Generally what I find from inexpensive rollers is the wood handle breaks after a couple uses due to the pressure you have to apply to the material.I am not hearing any premature cracking from the handle, the roller is quite firm and makes great contact with the material I'm working with.Also the roller doesn't walk off its center point like some cheaper rollers do; this roller stays in place and stays true. There is no vibration in the roller wheel itself and it spins smooth and free much like a wheel on a skateboard or inline skate.Just as an added piece of advice, I would recommend filing the sharp 90 degree edge on the rollers corner to prevent the roller wheel from cutting into your material. With a lot of use this will break itself in but it takes a tremendous amount of time to do so.Just bevel the edge slightly with a flat file and you will be good to go.Other then that, there is not much else to say about such a simple product. Its made decently and does what it's supposed to do.Good Luck with your projects.

I bought this to repair wallpaper seams that were curling. This roller has ball bearings, it rolls so smoothly, is easy to apply pressure without making my hand cramp and the handle is sturdy. I wasn't concerned the handle might break during use. The roller itself is a hard material but not like the plastic in most wallpaper seam rollers. I can see this being useful in many applications.

Although this roller cost more than the others, I decided to try it because it was described as being equipped with roller bearings. Since this tool would be used to apply auto sound dampener and would be subject to fairly heavy loads, I did not want something with plastic bushings that would certainly drag, wear, and become noisy. The bearings are constructed of steel balls and plastic races. The roller is of medium hardness and works well for my application. The handle and frame are very sturdy with no flex. I am almost finished with the installation and the tool is functioning perfectly, no dragging or noise. Great value and definitely worth the extra cost.
