I purchased this for my d-lux 8, and it works as advertised, fits well on the lens, and opens/closes easily. I did notice that the flanges of the cap do rub against the barrel of the lens more than I would like when they open/close. That being said, I ended up going ahead and purchasing the OEM one because as useful as the JJC one was was, I did not like the fact that the ends of the flanges (where they connect to the ring) sticks out from the cap itself. To me, the low profile of the OEM one, where the cap is entirely circular and they don't stick out just looks better. The JJC cap also looks precisely like what it is, plastic, as opposed to the OEM which is a metal ring on the exterior. The pictures attached are the JJC and the OEM Leica for comparison. Still, considering the cost of the OEM, this is a useful cap that will serve your needs well enough. I am not currently using a filter, so I cannot comment on how well it works with one of those.

High quality that fits and works with a uva filter on front. Great value compared to Leica brand. Only time will tell if it holds up.

This off-brand auto lens protector is just great. After losing a couple of caps whilst on vacation, this became a must-have travel item. Slips right on and works. Looks great, too. Yeah - it does not say "Leica" on it but why would that be important, right? The important part is how the camera works. If you have D-luxe or LX series camera, buy one!

Seems to work well on D-Lux 8. Some slight play in the mount but I may add some paper tape or something like that underneath to tighten it up. Works also with a GOBE UV MRC 16L 43mm filter. The cap completely closes flat with that filter. In fact the cap seems to only hit the edge of the lens barrel and filter slightly as it opens and closes. I have no problem with that. I tucked away my expensive OEM lens cap for now.

Doesn’t fit Lomo d-lux 4I’m not sure how it works either, as it has no open function, you have to push open the claw pieces, so unless your camera just does that? I don’t see this being useful

Yes it works but does not fit tight. It has a tendency to slip off.

Looks cool. Maybe not as low-profile as I imagined, but still good on the LX100 MII. Fun little add on that allegedly offers protection. It works with my uv filter.

Leica direkt bietet solch Zubehör ebenfalls an, kostet dort allerdings aktuell 75.00 Euro. Was daran anders sein? Ist eventuell sogar der identische Chinesische Hersteller!

I have fitted this to my new Leica D Lux 8 (with a 43mm filter already in place) - you would have to take off the filter and grasp the camera tightly to remove the lens outer ring - then refit the filter and this clicks in place on a third turn - just like the Leica but one fifth of the price!! Have used it about ten times now - just opening and closing the cap -its seem a bit silly to start with but if you are anything like me who always looses lens covers - this is an absolute must. Even if it breaks, I can buy four more replacements and still be cheaper than the Leica OEM piece - absolutley love it!
