Great machine for the money

Purchased the product May 2022. Installation not bad and once done it was a great alternative to bottle coolers. However, 18 months later the units heater/cooler stopped working and it only dispenses room temp water. Avalon's website and owner's manual have all kinds of support options. Unfortunately none of them work. The tech support tele does not connect you with an agent. It directs you to send an email. The chat feature does not launch a chat box. Scheduling a video chat doesn't work. Your only alternative is send an email and maybe in a week you'll get a reply that's not very helpful so you'll reply and wait another week. Likely going to have to take the loss on this and replace it with a product that will last more than 18 months and a manufacturer that actually supports their products.

Update (1 year after purchase): Just under a year, the water started dispensing slower and slower until it just wouldn't dispense. When I checked my warranty, it was just past the 1 year so I took my precious time in contacting Avalon and decided to fix or see what was wrong. After watching a few videos on their website and some others on YouTube, I opened the top, I saw that the water was frozen, so I thawed it and it started to work for 1-2 days and it froze again. I finally contacted Avalon to ask for assistance and hoped they knew what was wrong. Tyler H was such a huge help! He gave me instructions to do what I had already done so there wasn't anything else I could do. Tyler says that the water shouldn't freeze again and I explained that it did. I wasn't expecting a replacement since it's past the 1 year warranty. They sent me a box to return mine and shipped me a new one! I can't express my gratitude enough! We drink so much water (and it's so important), that when it wasn’t readily available, I had to use a small water filter which wasn't fun for 7 people in a home. I'm so glad I contacted Avalon because their customer service is superb! Tyler was great to work with and very responsive! We are once again a happy hydrated family! lolUpdate (6 months): now that we have to replace our filters, it hurts that it’s $100!Update: it’s been a couple of months and we still love it. One of the complaints we have is that the tray below is small. The cups/mugs sit on it fine but just having it slightly larger would have been nice. I feel like my kids drink more water now that we have this and it’s easily accessible for them. My husband complains it’s sorta loud but I didn’t think so. It has a cooler so it sounds like a fridge kinda. Doesn’t bother me.Original: My husband and I put this together so imagine me reading the instructions and him trying to “wing it†as usual ha-ha. Aside from that, it wasn’t too bad to install. We did have to drill a hole in our cabinets to run the (small) hose through to the sink. The manual was sort of helpful but the photos were not great and hard to see and it could have explained things better but we figured it out. The cold water is cold, room temperature is cooler and the hot water is pretty hot and will great for tea, instant oatmeal and Cup-O-Noodles! As far as value, it’s not like I buy these things often (first one) so I don’t know but it seemed reasonably priced.

I use this as an add-on for a refrigerator without an external filtered water dispenser. It is very convenient to have hot (near-boiling), refrigerated and room-temperature water available. It is extremely quiet and the dispensers have room for filing our tall water bottles. I appreciate that the water heating and cooling facilities are independently switchable in case you don't want to use one or the other. The light on the dispenser is not very useful, as it is blue in color and positioned where it gets covered when dispensing to a tall container.My installation did not fit either of the two situations provided for by the parts supplied with the dispenser. To connect the device to a 1/4" threaded refrigerator water supply line, I got a brass Tee to fit the plastic water line supplied. I was unable to fit the (hard plastic) water line to the brass Tee using the hardware supplied with the Tee. I got a softer plastic tubing that I was able to use with the brass Tee, and found that the soft plastic tubing would leak slightly when joined with the "shark-bite" connector on the rear of the water dispenser.I explained my problem in a support email to Avalon, and my customer support representative Angel G. mailed me an elbow with "shark-bite" connectors and a replacement for the rear connector on the unit itself in case that was the problem. I received the parts (no charge!) a few days later, and with the use of the elbow connector was able to get a leak-free connection to the water line. A very positive support experience.

The unit is awesome and better than I expected. Thank you for getting easy of set-up and managing it. The Hot water is perfect for a relaxing cup of tea ( if I every have to wait 3 hours to be as peek to Van Houtte coffee water service again..NOT). If I knew sooner about this company and product. Promise I would have dumped the previously mentioned company much sooner.. great service (2 days from order to delivery WOW 😲 , and looks great) ,built a stand and station for cup's and condiments. No problem . Simply hook up water supply line, (easy to do) turn on water wait 15 minutes. Walla cold and hot water 🌊💦 10 of 10 and kudos to them.

It's easy to put together. Has got three drinking options - striking hot, cool, and very cold drinks. The taste from the carbon filters is noticeably distinct and yet to be fully embraced by the rest of the family. I loved that I didn't have to buy bottled water anymore and could rely on the constantly flowing treated water in the house. Great value for your money.

I have bought 2 of these coolers and both have stopped working after about 1.5 years.They both now freeze up.I contacted customer service who toldme the thermostat is the problem and to unplug the unit for 72 hours to let the unit thaw and reset then to plug it back in and use as normal.Tried that and they just freeze back up and no cold water.Nice units just not worth the money if they only last a year and a half.I just wish customer service was more help.

I have had this product for 3 plus weeks now.Had a bit of a cleansing taste to the water when I first tried it.Just goes to prove that they use a cleaning solution when they assemble the machine.Machine was a little noisy on my hardwood floors, resolved that issue with a rubber mat, which I cut to fit, noise problem resolved.So far no issues, machine works as advertised, water is still being produced at the required levels, cold is still very cold, as I’m continuously filling my personal water bottle.Hot water is perfect for making Tea and Hot Chocolate.I gave it a 4 Star Rating and that’s because of the noise level, yet that was resolved with a rubber mat.Perhaps they could look at adding rubber molding in the corners to help dampen the noise, for future production.Otherwise excellent machine, good value for the dollar.Setup was a breeze, all you need is a little mechanical aptitude, I tapped into my water line in the basement, my cold water going to my kitchen sink.I just went to Home Hardware for my plumbing needs, they provide you with the materials to plumb under your sink, or off of your fridge water line.
