The most important feature, for me, is strong rings that don't get mis aligned.I like the clear plastic covers and spine for placing labels.I use these every year for tax returns, financial documents, and important correspond.As for an improvement, how about a finger hole like the European standard binders ?It makes them easier to pull out from a shelf.

Oh, that Avery push tab to open the binder? Better than sliced bread. Avery….always Avery. Recommended in any size of binder.

I purchased an Avery binder - this binder - specifically for the quality Avery always provides. I want a binder that will hold up over time and has the attention to detail that makes it more durable than the competitors. Overall I am pleased with the binder - the size with allowance for tabs and such that may protrude just a littler, the cover pockets that allow for personalization, the shape of the rings for easy page turning. However, one ring, the topmost ring, has a very slight imperfection. Pages snag on this one ring and so page turning gets stuck. I don't see an obvious imperfection, but the problem is consistent. I have to be certain to guide the top of each page through the turning process or the pages will snag and crumple.

I gave a family history project to all my relatives for Christmas this year, and these folders were perfect for it. I never realized how awful most folders are with their round rings, that are hard to open, and that make such a loud noise when we shut them. And these come with unusually nice pockets in the front and back. I thought I'd miss having color options, but I think the white turned out nicer. And we could add any color we want by sticking a pretty piece of cardstock in the spine and the front & back covers.
