You may have some difficulty with making it flat, but it will certainly flatten out with time, pressure, or heat. I opened mine, rolled it open, then laid some tiles on it. It was very flat after a day.I really like the thickness and the flexibility. I cut it to fit my kids desk area. It was easy to cut with a sharp razor blade and the edges that are cut are not sharp at all. I made round corners using a quarter as a razor blade guide. This will protect my kids desk (which I made myself), and it will also allow him to view sheets of paper that he can place underneath of it. This adds to the functionality of the desk.

I like the product. It came in without any issues and laid out easily. Very clear, I can hardly tell it there. And yes, it really is slip resistant.

I work in television and bought one for the control room at the network. I put it on my dining table for a few days with books on top to flatten it out.I am able to put the our show plan info and graphic system codes right in front of the graphic operator. We use codes rather than typing words like, for example, a pink sapphire & diamond ring, we type 369 enter, 122 enter, and the system fills it in for us. Makes our job easier because we have a lot of codes and we can't remember them all so nice clear mat let's me put the code list for specific shows right in front of me.The mat gets 24 hour a day use and not a problem. My fellow graphic operators love it! So much better than having a bunch of pages of show notes and codes laying around.The mouse doesn't work very good on it but that was expected. The mat has a slightly sticky feel to start but that wears off with use.*****UPDATE*****The front on the right side next to the mouse. This is the side that gets the most use and it has curled up on us. Not the end of the world, it is in use 24/7/365! When I get a minute I'm going to flip it around and put something heavy on the curly edge.But dropped a star on rating

Bought this for my nightstands. I had to cut to size but looks great. Protects the surface from water and damage. Doesn't slip or smell- overall great product..

I had one of these clear plastic desktop covers a long time ago and they are absolutely fabulous. I ordered a really big one for my desk and now I need another one for my home. They are perfect and they just help ito keep your desk area clean.

I wish I had gotten a Matt finish this clear shows fingerprints, smudges and bubbles underneath it.
