Well made good looking handle, but wish they left the end of it as a blank to carve yourself so it would fit more axe heads. Came as described without flaws or issues.

This axe handle might be too expensive for the quality you get. Let's start with the type of wood chosen for it. It's a well-known fact that the best wood for handles is Hickory, not Oak. Unfortunately,e the wood chosen for this handle is some oak species. The second issue I found with the handle is the asymmetrical milling of the top part that fits into the axe's eye. This is an indication of manufacturing problems, as obviously, everything made in mass production today is done with machinery. The problem of uneven milling indicates either a manufacturing or a quality control issue. On the positive side, the cone wedges look sharp and well-manufactured. However, the wood choice and milling issues make this handle a questionable investment.

Recently found nice hatchet/hammer head and needed a handle. This works well for now. It wasn't too hard to reshape and the wedges are included.

Because of this hatchet handle replacement I was able to restore the functionality and safety of an antique hatchet by replacing a damaged, worn out, and poorly fitting handle with this new one, improving grip, comfort, and overall performance. The old handle was cracked, splintered, or simply uncomfortable to use. This replacement gave my hatchet a new lease on life.

Handle so large in grip area it going to be hard to hang on to. Not very dense product almost seems like a soft wood.

This is a comparatively stout handle for its length. At just over 10 1/2” often hatchet handles in this size will be very narrow in circumference. This handle provides a wider full grip.I don’t know what type of wood it is made from, description states “wood”. It looks like oak to me. I like the darker look to the finish. Description also states the wood is charred, this process would also add some hardness. The end grain is nearly horizontal. If I were hand selecting a replacement handle I would look for a vertical end grain. However, in a handle this short it is not as likely to make a big difference.
