I purchased this yoga chair over another much less expensive one on Amazon because a review said the other one was flimsy.I was not disappointed, as this chair is sturdy and well made. It is comparable to the best yoga chairs I have used in Iyengar studios--heavy substantial-feeling, which you really want if you are draped all over it!First a bit of background for those new to this concept: Yoga chairs are essentially regular folding chairs with the back rest removed, so you can stick your feet or even your whole body inside to do poses. Some yoga chairs, including this one, also lack rungs on the front, freeing up a little more space for certain poses.My favorite poses to do on a yoga chair are backbends (your body is draped over the chair with your shoulder blades at the edge and your feet going through the back and hanging over the other end) and Iyengar-style chair shoulder stand, in which the chair is used to hold some of your weight for a very relaxing pose.I also want to note that this chair arrived without a pair of small plastic caps that usually go on the top of the back legs to protect them from bending as you open the chair and the chair legs make contact with the curved back. It is also possible these caps were in the bottom of the box and I missed them--so if you buy one of these, look carefully before throwing out the packaging!When I realized they were missing a few weeks later, I wrote the company and sent a pic of the problem area of the chair, which had ugly (and possibly dangerous) bent exposed metal due to the lack of caps. They apologized, said it was an issue with the manufacturer, and promptly sent the plastic caps to me. I was happy with the great customer service!Please note that this review is based on the QUALITY of the chair and the great customer service, not on the price, which I find excessive. As of the writing of this review, this product is currently priced at $92, which is at the high end of yoga chairs available anywhere. I am happy to pay extra for quality, however, further shopping has determined the same quality is available elsewhere at a fraction of this price. I never tried the cheaper one on Amazon, but for my second yoga chair (I need two for when friends come over) I purchased one from yoga chair prop dot com for $60 and it appears to be identical--looks to me like the same manufacturer with a different branding label.

I don't know why these chairs cost so much. It's a folding chair you'd get at Target for 10 bucks, with the back sawed out.But if you're serious about yoga, you must have one. Iyengar yoga demands a chair for many reasons/poses.I was so upset Yoga Outlet quit carrying these. I had one four years. It broke when friend stood on it to help me reach something high in the closet.They can run 200 from Pune, India.The last one I bought in CA disappeared. I have no idea where it went. Who steals a backless chair? It had to have been on the street as I was unloading car. That was 50 bucks. This was the cheapest I saw for months.Also the light color is better. Easier to prop and blend in with the wall.

I needed a backless yoga chair for my Iyengar home practice. This chair is very solid/sturdy but I think the price is a bit expensive for a basic folding chair. Since I am not willing to modify my own folding chair, it's worth paying for the convenience factor. The shipping was expensive though -- prime shipping is unavailable for this item.

I like the feel and design of this chair for my yoga practice. I also like the soft tips on the chair legs that do not scratch the floor.

First of all this yoga chair is sturdy, high quality and beautiful. The only detail which I didn’t pay attention when as buying it is that it has front spindle (the detail under the seat, holding two front legs) which absolutely not convenient for doing some asanas. Otherwise it is a nice chair and I decided to leave it for my practice.

I am an Iyengar yoga student and can say that this chair is as sturdy and nice as any I have seen. Very good price, especially combined with Amazon shipment. One reviewer said the chair was not heavy enough. Not true from my knowledge of similar chairs in various studios. Another review said the chair took a long time to come. Mine came in five days - in the middle of a pandemic. I highly recommend buying this product.

This is a lighter chair than the ones in my yoga studio. However, adjusting for that is not difficult and I am able to do all the same poses I bought it for. I would have rather spent a little more money for a heavier chair
