What is a universal joint used for?
A universal joint is a positive, mechanical connection between rotating shafts, which are usually not parallel but intersecting. They are used to transmit motion, power, or both. The simplest and most common type is called the Cardan joint or Hooke joint.

This U joint was mounted between an engine and a hydraulic pump that drives a greens roller on a Golf course. It replaced a connector that was always shearing bolts. It is a much better option and is working flawlessly.ðŸ‘

I had to file out both keyways to fit my engine and mud motor shaft. The shaft holes themselves also had to be ground out with a 3/4†drill bit because the metal around the set screw holes was protruding and stopping the shaft from sliding in. Plus the grease fitting flew off first time I ran the engine. For now, it is working
