I’v tried different ones, both from Amazon and my local stores, this is by far the best one, great price , timer works with no issues at all, the stand has the right weight so it do not fall over to the ground. Most important, it cleans the air for sure, you can tell after turn it on for about 5 seconds. Obviously a great investment for our household.

First of all, some precautions:1) When you buy this item, ALSO BUY UV PROTECTION GOGGLES. These are a must -- without them you risk severely damaging your eyes.2) MAKE SURE ALL LIVING THINGS (PEOPLE, ANIMALS, PLANTS) ARE KEPT FAR AWAY from this while it is on. Again, this device is no joke. It's like bleach on your eyes and can kill plants as well.3) The base has both an on/off switch as well as a remote. The remote works fine but the switch must be turned ON for it to work. This means that when you plug in the light, it will turn on until you switch it off with the remote. Hence, the prior two warnings about taking out all living things and wearing UV protection glasses.4) Make sure you have proper ventilation. In all likelihood using this device will emit strong odors (THIS MEANS IT'S WORKING) so be sure to open some windows or have the vent on while in use.Pros:This thing works. You get two bases so that you can use both lights at the same time. It is POWERFUL. Some people on here I see complain about the stench. THAT MEANS IT'S WORKING. If you are getting a strong odor from using this, it is from the dead bacteria, germs, and viruses that are releasing chemicals -- that is the stench. The price is not terrible either. The remote works in my experienceCons:The bases are very cheaply made with cheap plastic. They're not the sturdiest thing ever, so be careful of the light tipping over. The fact that the light switch must be manually switched to ON before the remote can work kind of detracts from some of the initial usefulness of the remote.Overall, I highly recommend this. Though it's a bit cheaply made, it's also extremely effective and powerful. Though, again, for God's sake REMOVE ALL PLANTS AND ANIMALS FROM PREMISES BEFORE USING AND WEAR UV PROTECTION GOGGLES.

CHEAP CRAP.First I turned on the one with the ozone and went to another room. After 20-30 seconds heard the poping sound went in to check the light and it was off. checked the bulb and it blew the fuse(or whatever it is called). thought that it was the stands fault. turned on the other stand and used the second lightbulb(without ozone). again after 20-30 second pop and guess what second bulb also popped. I have been using this lamp for 4 months now with no issues. I use it in my clean room before any mycology work is started. I operate the ozone and UV light for 30 minutes then let the room ozone "dissipate" for another 30 minutes before entry. Before I started using this additional method of sanitation my contamination rate was low (7%-12%) but since the introduction of this lamp, my contamination rate is now 0. Works well if you use it properly and know the limitations.

My main concern with this product is that the remote control lamp defaults to the on position when it receives power. So there is no intuitive way to prepare the lamp for remote activation without turning it on in while you are physically exposed to it. When I went to set up the device to use remotely, I installed the bulb, plugged it in, and turned on the hardwired switch, and found myself bathed in UV-C radiation. I was thrilled that I was wearing protective glasses and clothing, which you should definitely not skip when working with this. In fact, because the device comes with no instructions, I had worried this behavior might happen, and I double checked my gear. The workaround is that you can take an ordinary lightbulb and use that to set up this device. Then the bulb can be turned off using the remote and the bulb changed to the UV-C bulb. As long as the device remained plugged in, it remembered that the remote had turned it off. But as soon is it's been unplugged, it forgets and defaults to being on when it receives power.

This sanitizer lamp works by shining UV light that kills germs -- and during that time you should stay outside of the room. You can return to the room later, supposedly after ozone converts back to O2. When I used the Ozone lamp, the resulting bad smell lasted much longer than 4 hours expected for ozone to decompose. It must have produced something else that lasted longer than 24 hours, even with completely open window. Ozone-free lamp was much better, bad smell lasted 30 minutes only.
