I drink cold coffee every day that's hot-brewed the day before then refrigerated overnight. This coffee gets poured right after it's brewed into a large Ball Mason jar, then I put a lid on and shake a little to mix the sugar and creamer. This was done with the metal lids for years but they kept rusting which affected the way they sealed. It was hard to get the metal lids closed in a way that would prevent leaks. The metal lids were cleaned in the dishwasher and I would remove and hand dry them after each cycle. I saw these plastic ones and thought I'd give them a try.Upon my first attempt to seal the jar of hot coffee, there seemed to be some slight leakage. I didn't want to go back to the old metal ones so I kept using them but tightened them a little more. After a couple of times of use and cleaning, I noticed that they weren't leaking anymore. I don't know if the heat from the coffee or me tightening them more to prevent any possible leaks did it but there's no more leaks. I really like them now and find them easier use than 2-piece metal ones. My advice when you get them would be to wash them and put them on a jar really tight before you use them the first time if you'll be storing/shaking liquid in your mason jars.I like them. They've made things easier for me. They don't rust and they don't leak anymore.

I like storing leftovers in Mason jars. I can easily see what's in them and they take up less space than flat containers. These lids (or the white ones, I have both) are great to replace the metal rings and seal. Obviously, they don't rust and they look nice and tidy. BUT I haven't tested their seal. Although they are said to be leak-proof, I haven't tested it. I will and if they leak, I'll let you know.

It fits well on my mason jars and creates a good seal.

I’m so happy for these plastic lids. I used to use the old school metal combo lids, no more.If you don’t need to cook your finished jars these lids are awesome.Lids seal completely and tighten easily. No worries about leaking. A bit more expensive but for me worth for convenience and speed.

These are leakproof and work great! Perfect fit for our mason jars. I’m so glad I got these - we used these when pooling breastmilk so needed something we could trust to not leak/spill. We plan on using these now to take things on the go!
