This is truly a magnetic switch not like some of the items described as "magnetic". This device not only protects an equipment user from a sudden return of power after a power failure but also has a current overload feature that is adjustable from 12.5 to 18 amps. The other advantage is having a second means of shutting down the power by using the RED stop button, had it been a locking stop it would have gotten five stars.

If you order, be sure to check out item as soon as you receive. I didn't get this installed until after the 30 day return policy expired, found it had a broken plastic tab inside the switch that rendered it inoperable. Cheap. Can't return. Would NOT recommend.

I ordered this magnetic starter switch to have for a backup on my air compressor. I didn't read close enough and after I received it I noticed that it is 3 phase. After panicking for a couple of minutes I did some research and luckily found out that it can be rewired for a single phase application. The switch looks to be about average quality and has easy operation. There is a wiring diagram inside the cover to make wiring easier, but it's for 3 phase of course. The price is fair and I'm happy with it.
