I'm probably not trying to throw this barcode scanner out of a moving car and expecting it to work, but it seems good enough for occasional drops.Uses fixed LEDs for light instead of a laser with scanning optics. This can be good or bad depending on application; it's certainly more durable to use fixed LEDs than moving mirrors.No issues with programming. The included book had the barcodes I needed to set it up.In my use (which is mobile), I keep it stowed in the cardboard box it came with. The die-cut foam keeps it secure-enough.No issues with battery life or self-discharge. I don't have a ton of time actually-using the reader, but it remains charged every time I use it.And it works with my laptop's integrated Bluetooth without any fuss.

I replaced an expensive scanner with this one. Scans fine, so works 5/5 as intended. The only thing I don't like is when you stop using it a couple of minutes it shuts itself off. That would be fine, but when you click to turn it back on, it takes a few more seconds to work. If you scan within this time, nothing scans. I wish it didn't turn itself off to save battery or be more effective when turning it back on.
