This cocking device works great. Factory made so it fits and works perfectly. Handles are rugged and fit your hands well. One or two cycles and you’ll have the knack of it. Good price for OEM purchase. You may want to adjust the length to fit your build but once it’s set you’ll be good to go.

I went hunting and forgot my cocking rope now I will carry this as my extra. It fits well just have to cut the rope to length like my original one. This is well made as my original.

I recommend using a rope cocker they apply even tention on the string thus making arrows fly straighter. This cocker is priced right at about $10. I'm thinking about shortening the rope a little. Once you pull up past a certain point it becomes difficult just due to the arm strength it takes raising them that high. I'm not an engineer but I would guess the pullies make it about twice as easy to pull as compared to just pulling the string by hand. Be patient once you use it a couple dozen times you will get quick at hooking it up and using it.Update: I shortened the rope taking off about 27 inches. Now it is a lot easier to pull and not so awkward to handle. I use it on a Barnett Panzer V. If you decide to try it, measure on your own bow because bows and rope length may vary greatly. Before you cut pull the rope up out of one of the handles and put another knot in it and try it. That way you can get the perfect length before making an irreversible cut. I made mine so I pull the hooks to the handles, having a hook and a handle in each hand, loop the rope around the stock grove, hook to the string and pull the handles. It works slick and quick!

This is a necessary purchase of sorts. I ordered this along with the Barnett Quad and after trying to cock the Quad by hand, quickly was very happy that I purchased this rope cocking device along with the crossbow. The rope device makes it ten times easier to cock not to mention it gives me a much more accurate groupings when I use this device instead of cocking by hand. It makes the crossbow more accurate because you're cocking the string more evenly using the rope device while saving your back and mostly your hands. The reason I'm giving it four stars is because the first time I tried to use it I quickly noticed that the rope was too long for my height. Basically there was going to be no way I could fully seat the string into the trigger system with my arms going up to my shoulders. This was an easy fix though.. I just pulled a few inces of the rope into the handle and tied it off at the end, therefore shorting the overall length of the rope. Since the hooks roll on rollers (which are very nice and smooth btw), shortening the rope in this way doesn't mess with evenly cocking the string. I also noticed that after many uses the rope streched a little..but hey.. for $15 it works for me. I've also used the rope device when the string doesn't sit properlly on the trigger and sits too high. Just hook the string again, pulled up a bit more and the string ends up sitting perfectly on the trigger again. All in all, getting some type of cocking device not only saves your arms, back, and hands, which in turn allows you to shoot for longer in a given sitting, it also ensures that you cock your bow more evenly therefore getting more accurate shots. I watched a video on youtube where a guy showed the difference between hand cocking his Quad vs. the "crank" cocking system and his groupings were much better. I saw this for myself when I used my hand vs. the rope device. Using the rope device I got better groupings. I have the crank system on order and will see how that goes, but this rope device will still be something that will always be in my bag anyway. I just see getting this rope device as a necessary thing if you own a crossbow.. at least one that takes some effort to cock.

Worked as advertised. I inherited an old Barnett Wildcat II with 150 lb limbs, and instructions had the user holding the butt against the stomach and using 2 hands to pull the bowstring into place. A great way to get bruises...The bow had no stirrup so I made a stirrup with 1/8' coated cable to hold the bow down during cocking. When the cocking device showed up I put one clip on the string on the left side, brought the rope over the buttstock and down the other side. Having watched some you tube videos using this style cocker I then attached the other clip and made a knot in the rope that would allow a slight tension on the string when both clips were attached. Then with foot holding the bow down pull the handles up and the bow is cocked. So much easier than using hands to cock the bow, and more accurate since it is the same every time. A great device.

I gave a product review of THIS item that was based on limted knowledge of this item's usefulness. I received this item with no instructions on it's use, therefore, my review was based, 'soley' on how I was 'trying' to use it. When used 'properly', this rope with handles and 'CLAWS' makes the cocking of a crossbow (I have done a 150lb and a 175 lb) a simple deed, with, in my opinion, 50% less energy needed when cocking without the Rope Cocking Device. There is not the pain on the fingers/hands that occurs when using the hands, alone. You simply place the rope-device as shown in a diagram (that I did not have) and 'STAND UP'. If you have a cranking device, as I do, this Rope Cranking Device is faster and you can get off more shots when practicing your shooting. I really LIKE this item, very much. Please disregard any negative review that may be found with my name on it.Jefferson A LongSmarterThanMywifeThinks

I have a 150 lb crossbow, so does my brother. (Neither of which are barnett.) This cocking rope still works perfectly for both of them, even though neither one has the groove that Barnett crossbows are designed with that you're supposed to place the cocking rope in when using it. We have to run it up over the butt on ours. This Cocking Aid is plenty long enough to work this way and is still completely safe. By safe I mean there's no risk of it slipping off because both of our crossbows have a slight crescent moon shape to the butt. I also bought 2 "bargain" cocking aids from another website around the same time I got this one. My thinking was to have a couple cheaper ones just for backups in case we lost or broke this one, just to keep in the bottom of our toolbox. Well, the "bargain" ones didn't work at all. Sure they were cheaper, about half the price. (And took a LONG LONG time to arrive, by the way, - which has a lot to do with why it took me over ten weeks to decide to write this review.) Like I was saying, the bargain ones were about half the Price, but seriously didn't work at all, and actually caused damage to my crossbow, which I have only had since January. With the cheap cocking device, when it got within an inch of being cocked, it would just bind and dig into the side of the rail making it impossible to move any farther. The harder I pulled the more it would just bind and dig in. Also, the hooks that hold the bowstring would "jump" the rail if I didn't pull the ropes behind and away at nearly a 45 degree angle until I got to where it binds up. I tried several times to make sure I was using it right before I realized the damage it was doing. The pull handles were too small, awkward, and uncomfortable. The "bargain" device didn't work like a pully system either. It didn't divide the weight, so you still had to pull the full 150 lb. Obviously, they were no Bagain at all. I ended up cutting the rope up into peices on the one that damaged my crossbow and didn't even bother opening the second one, before throwing them both in the garbage. This Barnett Cockiing Aid cost me under $20, when I bought it in January 2018, and it actually does what it is supposed to do. It makes it so you can cock your crossbow with half the draw force than without, making it much easier and safer because when you aren't struggling and straining you have much better control. (And it does it without gouging the sides of the rail of your crossbow - just saying ) I really can't stress it enough. This works and it works Very Very well. I am strong enough to draw the string back without a cocking aid but My Brother had open heart surgery a while back so it's impossible for him. With one of these it's easy. Even though I "Can" cock mine without one, it is uncomfortable, it hurts my fingers so I am buying a couple more of these so we each have one and so we have a spare. They are simple to use and even easier to set to your size. To adjust it to fit you, all you have to do is tie a couple of knots. One at each end of the rope. The knot changes where the handles sit, lengthening or shortening the device. It couldn't be easier. If you have a crossbow. Get a couple of these. Really, you won't regret it. They are excellent.
