Simply place the device on the floor and slide the metal plates under the door. Pushing outward on the handles engages the plates to the exterior door jamb and the device is securely locked in place by simply inserting a pin.

This is the toughest, most reliable system in a portable door securing unit that I have found. With practice, you can fully deploy the unit in less than 10 seconds. The door will structurally fail before this unit itself fails. It you have a solid wooden interior door with a steel or solid frame, this system will truly impress you if used correctly. The door will have to be broken in half before someone could get past it since this system supports the entire bottom area of the door. I researched and tested several types of portable locking units, but this is easily the best. It costs more than it's competition, but it also is many times better than anything else I've seen on the market. It's money well spent to protect your family or loved ones who may want extra piece of mind that may work in an office or classroom that want quick access to deploy on a door to reinforce it in an emergency.

My daughter is a 4th grade school teacher and my husband and I feel better that she has one. She had to use it this year, bc of an incident with a mentally ill student! Fortunately they have sent him to an institution for help.It gives us all a peace of mind!I wish every teacher had one, bc we just never know!

Still no response and/or solution to the problem of package being delivered with only 5 Barracuda door defense systems instead of 6. The packing slip states 6 was shipped and charged for 6 but only received 5.

Be aware that these devices are not accepted by many fire marshals throughout the US. The company should be more forthcoming so you don’t buy one and have to return it.

Amazing product! I carefully measured my classroom door to make sure it would fit and it is great. I made each of my 160-some students practice with it. While I pray we never need it, I'm glad it works!

Easy to slide under the door door if somebody looked on the floor, they wouldn’t be able to see in because it covers up the floor
