I am very impressed with this barrel drum lifting clamp! It’s well built and gives me a good secure drip on the drum without causing damage. It’s easy to use and saves a lot of time. I highly recommend this!

Needed a clamp for moving plastic drums around the farm - saw this and pulled the trigger. When it arrives, plan on getting out some tools to assemble. It has a few manufacture flaws that make your job a little harder than it needed to be.First off - no instructions are included. You will find 4 pins, and 4 cold rolled locking pins. When you first put it together, instinctive will tell you to put all four pins in the four holes. You will only use two pins. The clamp is adjustable to fit either small drums, or full size 55 gal drums. Spread the bar out the outer holes for the bigger drums.I did not use the cold rolled locking pins. They are not easy to remove - and I have both sizes of drums. I tossed the cold rolled in the trash, and used removable clip pins.Second - The holes were not clean enough to accept the pins. They had slag, and build up coatings. I needed to use a rat tail file and clean all the holes up. After doing that - the pins when right in and had no issues. The drum I tested on is plastic - It clamped nicely, but you have to be careful. It isn't clamping on much.

We have 13 pigs on our hobby farm and use 55 gallon drums for their water supply. This clamp makes moving barrels so much easier if you can solve the problem I have with it. How to attach it to my front loader? The circular opening is too small for any of my tow chain hooks to fit through yet the hook slot is too small to simply snag the clamp.Aside from that, super easy to operate. Lower it over the top and it spreads wider. Lift back up and it pulls tight to do its job.

I have to transfer water to various parts of our property. This allows me to fill up barrels at my filling station, lift them up - back a truck in and safely place them in the back of the truck. Without this, I wouldn't be able to do the work. Very well made and has a nice, safe grip on the barrel collars.

The good: This thing is BEEFY; I would have no concerns about it being able to lift a full 55 gallon barrelThe bad: There are no instructions, and since I've never used one I dont know exactly how it is supposed to work. Are the arms supposed to pivot or do you just slide it in from the side? I dont know, because there are no instructions. Also it claims to be adjustable and portable being disassembled. Bull. The pins it comes with are held in place with roll pins, so you will install it at a single width and then the roll pins make the installation permanent (but are needed because otherwise the cross pins could come out). Also, the picture shows just one set of pins being installed (and indeed, thats all you CAN install if you have it at the wider setting), so why does it come with 4 pins if you only 2 are needed? Dont know, let me check the instructions. Oh wait....it didnt come with any.

Well made of heavy steel. More compact lifting capability than a sling.

First off, this thing is beefy, and I have a lot of confidence in its load bearing capacity. It perfectly fits steel 55-gallon drums (22.4"). And is supposedly adjustable for 15.7" diameter as well (even though the listing says 16/55 gallon, they likely mean 16" diameter and 22.4" diameter, which indicated 20 and 30 gallon drums, and 55 gallon drums). But, there are a few quirks.First, it doesn't fit my plastic 55 gallon drums (only steel drums).Second, you have to insert a roll pin into the clevis pins that hold the hook ends. This makes it very hard to adjust (you'd have to hammer out the pins). Alternatively, if you need the adjustment feature, you could instead insert cotter pins for easy removal.Third, the instructions are garbage.

First off, the clamp is super beefy. Very heavy, thick steel here - I would have no reservations about lifting close to the 1100lb limit (but I haven't tried anything close to it yet). I am not a huge fan of the roll pin approach to securing the pins, at least for the inside pins. If you remove the inside pin(s), you can pivot the arms to grab on to the barrel. With roll pins, it makes it really hard to do. Solution: just use some cotter pins. -1 stars because I had to provide my own cotter pin, happy otherwise.
