Ammonia Toxic Gas
Ammonia is a toxic gas that requires detection to ensure wellness for occupants and your livestock, particularly in occupational spaces, farms, and stables. NH3 is used in farm fertilizers, commercial refrigeration, water purification, treatment facilities, chemical plants, high-technology manufacturing, household cleaners, and cold storage lockers.
Ammonia Air Quality
The OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit for ammonia is 50 parts per million (ppm) averaged over an eight-hour workday. The NIOSH Recommended Exposure Limit (REL) for ammonia is 25 ppm averaged over an eight-hour workday. NIOSH also defines a Short Term Exposure Limit (STEL) of 35 ppm during any 15-minute period in the day.

Needed this quick for some leaking testing we needed to do for a client. It has good enough resolution and it seemed fairly accurate. It's not calibrated or certified so it's at best a representation of the ammonia concentration but it does work.

It didn't seem to work for home use. It only rarely & inconsistently registered, even when set next a bottle of ammonia. Maybe this would work for a big company or some kind of industrial application, but I just wanted to tell if I was "nose blind" with my cattery.Instructions were not detailed enough, either.Returning.
