First off, shipping is costly but arrive a month before estimated.Yes it's cheap but it's a heckuva deal.Wish I got the low C version but I was cheap. After a week I'm getting the altissimo register out. The high e only works as an over blown g. I can get up to high A. If you don't want to be Rocco Parisi this will do just fine. If you do, drop 20k.

I am a professional clarinetist and I desired to have a Bass Clarinet to play around with (and use in some recordings), but I didn't really have the budget to get anything in the normal price range. This instrument is plastic, which contributes to the lower price (most student models today are hard rubber). It feels good and plays well, but it is not a "professional" instrument like the description says (I knew that when I bought it). Any plastic clarinet of any kind is going to be a student level instrument. BEGINNING STUDENTS: be Aware that generic brand instruments like this can be a problem to get repaired if you break them. It's a beautiful instrument, but you have to take excellent care of it to keep it in good order. Let me also mention that it actually has a two piece body (which I find helpful for tuning), it just has a bracket over the joint between the two parts.

This is a plastic beginner's model, NOT a professional-grade model.
