My son was totally thrilled to get this. The sound is decent. So far, the instrument has functioned well with less than careful use.

The valve mechanism is of poor quality. Very hard and sticks a lot. The springs are under the valves, which makes the mechanism stiffer and slower. In 3 days playing the trumpet it got dark. I think it's a lack of varnish. There is nothing on the trumpet to indicate that it is actually a Queens brand. Every trumpet I know has an ID. The one that came to me had no identification. For these reasons, I returned this trumpet.

I've been a trumpet player for 11 years and don't get me wrong, the size of this will lead to slight tuning problems, but for the price, it was completely made up for by novelty, entertainment and convience. I do not recomend as a primary instrument.

If you intend on actually playing this... Don't waste your money on it. I got it in the mail like a month a half after I ordered it and there are so many things wrong with it I took it to the best repair shops in my Sacramento and they all told me the same thing. "It's too low quality to be fixed. There isn't even a serial number." There are air leaks, the valves hardly move (even when doused is valve oil), and every note sounds a half step down. It literally sounds like someone taped your spit valve open but this doesn't even have a spit valve, so.... If you want a pocket trumpet, go to Sam Ash or something. Don't get it online. I've never been so dissapointed. But hey... Is WAS only $100... I should have known better.

It took ages to arrive (> 2 months) and the build quality quite poor (valves are very stiff for example even after a clean and lube) and the sound is even worse. We call it the Kazoo and at best it is fit for an art project or lawn art. We have tried other pocket trumpets that are great little horns but this one is not worth the trouble at all.
