Good size, warm, soft, pretty

I’ve had this blanket for about 7 months now, but it didn’t get much use May - September since it was warm during those months. Unfortunately, it has just stopped working. The lights flash indicating a fault.

I tend to read a lot of reviews when contemplating a purchase especially if it is a brand or item I'm unfamiliar with--BUT I also read reviews for products I know very well to see if, in my opinion, the feedback aligns with my own experiences. I've learned a lot about some of the really unfair ratings given to a product because it was DAMAGED IN SHIPPING ?!? Now, how is that a reflection on the product, I ask you??So, I read all the negative reviews for this Beautyrest heated throw and chose to ignore them because I really liked the way it looked (not the typical nor the over the top) and, after all it was BEAUTYREST for heavens sake, how bad could it be?? Answer: pretty darn bad!Pros: (This will be fast)- Lovely design on top, very soft texture on both sides and as elegant as pictured.Cons:- Wires were felt instantly despite the softness of the fabric on both sides (soft and thick are two VERY different things and these wires were very stiff, thicker than expected and quite prominent; so much so that when you 'stroked' the throw the wires left a very visible pattern coming through the thin, albeit velvety, fabric).- Smelled of burning rubber/wire immediately, and on all 3 settings.- I am used to a slight 'wire smell' when first using a new piece of electric bedding, but it usually dissipates, never to return, within an hour or two at most...NOPE, ALWAYS THERE -- 2 trys for about 2 hours each !!- Heating/warmth is not only inconsistent, but it was so poor I'd almost think of it as 'roving' -- certain SMALL sections would heat up while others were cold spots (and still others never warmed at all though there were wires there--just wired 'dead zones') then without any movement from me beneath the throw, the cold spots and the warm areas would sort of skip around or trade places (literally, I kid you NOT).- The body of the controls DOES heat up as some reviews described. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say this was a 'fire hazard' as was often written, but it was certainly a bit irksome.- The material, as I wrote, is very soft and the pattern on the top is very attractive. HOWEVER, it was as though the two sides of the throw were a large pillowcase and the wiring the insert-- not tacked down or in a way that kept the fabric in place--just oddly/poorly constructed so that if you had the throw on your lap and legs--were you to raise you knee, for instance, the soft fabric 'case' would almost entirely shift so that the seam joining front to back would end up 1/4 -1/3 of the way twisted round itself. Had it not been for the connection of the electric cord to the throw, it would be like a standard size flat wire sheet as the pillow slipped in to a King sized pillowcase.I could go on, but clearly there is little to no point. I've had several years of experience with electric blankets and other such items, but this one was unlike ANYthing I'd ever experienced--and not in a good way! And, if I'd ever thought of giving this lovely throw as a gift, which I had contemplated PRIOR to trying it for myself first, I'd be utterly embarrassed!! Sorry...but, BEAURYREST, GET IT TOGETHER! It IS visually attractive, but that is where any positive aspect of this product ends...and, thus, the review.

I looooooove this blanket! It's not very thick, but because it is heated, it doesn't need to be. It is very soft and comfortable, and it is longer than a lot of heated throws.This blanket has three settings, although I believe the high setting would be a bit too much. I have Fibromyalgia, which is aggravated when I'm cold. Medium is great for colder days, but the low setting works well for "everyday" use. It automatically turns off after about half an hour, which is great in case you forget to turn it off yourself.I would definitely recommend this blanket if you are chronically cold or want something extra to take the chill off during the cold weather months. Yes, as noted in other reviews, you can feel that the wires are in the blanket when you cover yourself, although I usually forget about them after a while. If you're just looking for a regular throw blanket, you might be happier with a thicker non-heated throw to avoid the wires.

Very soft, nicely temperature controlled, this blanket is cozy and warm as expected. Bought same one last year from another company and I think we weren't as careful as we needed to be with storage to protect wiring, etc. so it did not work this year. Since we'd really liked it we gave this one another try, as well as storing it in it's own plastic bin when not in use to help protect it. Has been really good since October.Only thing I'd change is heat is not completely uniform throughout but it's easy enough to adjust the way it's laying on you. I would buy again.

love this blanket but the price hike is making me look at other brands

The first one I got wasn’t a good buy,the fabric was matter in spots the tag took up a good portion of the front and it stopped heating after two days,I called amazon and they fixed it immediately! I got my new blanket and it’s so soft it feels like plush silk,the tag is on the inside (don’t know how that happened but I approve) and it heats up so fast and keeps the heat! I am so beyond thrilled that the refund blanket is such an improvement!

I liked this blanket BUT it only lasted me a year. And I only used it for about 3 out of the 12 months I had it. Last night I went to plug it in, and it doesn’t have any power. Checked all cords, nothing.When it works it’s quick to heat, and turns off after 2 hours, but the low setting isn’t warm at all. The medium is the same as low, and high burns your legs. The power cord is awkwardly placed…so I guessed the only thing I liked about it was it was quick to heat!

My wife is so impressed with this throw.Perfect size and supper soft.Our older cats love it also to cuddle up with.Thanks again.

This blanket is a 110-120v item. I do not understand why Amazon AU is selling this item. I will give credit where credit is due, the Amazon refund process is excellent. But please Amazon, please remove this item from the AU site.

The blanket stopped heating after only 3 months

I feel totally ripped off that this product was allowed to be sold in Australia and if it wasn't for the cost of postage I would return it asap.I will never deal with Amazon again and will recommend that my friends do the same.VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER BILL NINNESS
