This wood has been great to carve. Not alot of tight grain, so it has been great for my armature carves. This was maybe the 4th or 5th order I have done. Differant sizes. All have been great. I might get a block that is a little harder, but I think that's just thee luck of the draw.

The wood strips are 1x1 inch and not undersized. The basswood is of reasonable quality. They tend to be somewhat more harder than premium white basswood but not bad. Carve a piece of poplar and these will seem like butter by comparison. There are numerous 1x1 carving tutorials on the internet for beginners. More important than the wood is the quality of the knife. A good flat ground, thin bladed , razor sharp knife makes a world of difference. Such a knife will typically run from 30 dollars and up.

This is definitely the best Basswood ive ever bought really easy to carve and reasonable price i think a lot of sellers sell Pine and say its Basswood also Doug Linker recommends this Basswood from Beavercraft and if he likes it it's good enough for me

Sono rimasto deluso dal tiglio arrivatomi in quanto si sfalda facilmente e in certi punti è veramente duro .Creda sia dovuto al diverso peso dei singoli pezzi che hanno notevole sbalzo uno dall altro.Spero che al prossimo ordine cambiDecisamente tutto.
