I trialed this device using a range of distances and reductions in decibels. This device was optimal for me using an 8db reduction. I am currently using now.

I did purchase the same Attenuator. There is very little, in the way of a user manual/data sheet/testing (graph) reports, even on the manufacturer's website. Basically, the details you find on the sales listing is the only available information. I hope this 411 will save you the time and effort of looking for what does not exist. Having un-boxed mine, it looks fairly well made, with the exception that mine had one loose end-plate screw. I tightened it, but I am not sure that it was tapped all that well. Otherwise, I have not tried it, yet.

Comparing against fixed attenuatiors I have and measurements on a "hobby grade" vector network analyser it appears to work within 0.5 db up to 1.5GHz with each step resulting in expected readings.
