We recently saw our brake lamp did not shut off at 1am so we got a brake light switch from Autozone. That was a big mistake as it was a defective product. We couldn’t figure out what was causing the brake light to not shut off after a replacement switch was installed. So we decided to purchase this from Amazon installed it the same day and it works

I had two of these and both have failed. The last one didn't last 1 year.

I gave it 5 stars in my initial review, but have to downgrade it to 1... Surprised such a simple part failed so quickly. Good thing I did not use this replacement part for my cruise controll control cancel switch. At least it is easy to replace (if you are a contortionist).

We picked this up for a friend at a fraction of the cost at the parts store. It is a bit of a pain to get down there and install, just awkward. THEN we find out that the switch wasn't the issue anyway. There is a small little rubber stopper in the actuator that when it rots and falls out the plunger for this switch fits right in the hole. It's a safety measure so the brake pedal can't be bound up by switch failure. That part is even harder to put in, but commonly available sub $3
