I agonized. I make hot tea in a 2-liter, double steel wall, portable "pot" with a spout. Or a 1.25 liter that is just like but has a handle. I could not find a long tea ball large enough to make 1.25 liters much less 2-liter.I wanted it long for easy extraction. There is no place for a hook once sealed.I searched google and came across these "hopper" filters. Joy. Sencha green tea expands more than double so I came back here and searched "hopper" filter. This "filter" fits the 2-liter perfectly. The screw-on is so easy to start. It has a loop on the cap for a chain if needed. It is better for a tea infuser to be too large that too small. I think I could make a single tea mug with this. Cleaning will be a breeze because of the width.

I got this to put sea salt in so I could cold smoke it for flavor. Works pretty good! Mesh is fine enough that the larger salt particles don't fall out. All you have to do it occasionally rotate the filter to get all the salt exposed to the smoke.

Quality is good but it's best for only a single hop addition. The metal is extremely hot to remove and unscrew to add more hops. I didn't realize this so it's basically limited. I'll just use hop sacks to keep the sludge contained.

The threads on the top cover are easily slipped with minimal resistance, allowing it to come off if you pick it up by the top, or even if it just tips over. If you plan to use it to hold desiccant beads, be sure to secure the top with tape or other means.

I have been brewing for 30+ years and have always use the cheese cloth/Mulin Bags and mables for dry hopping. I was up to order some more supplies and I came across these Dry Hop Filters. What a nice change. These are made of Stanless Steel so they will probably work flawlessly for my lifetime. The mesh is very tight but also allows for water and hop oils to pass through. I love that these can been cleaned and santized so easily plus no more marbles are required to weigh the hops down. The mouth of the canister is wide enough to easily fill with hops. I used 2 ounces of hop pelets and it was only about 1/5 full. I would strongly recommend these since I personally bought 3 of them.Hope this helps and remember RDWHAHB!!
